I don't know, they both just seem to keep repeating themselves, but at least Kerry came up with facts germaine to the questions, while Bush seemed to be just have a number of predefined answers.

Frankly, I found some of Bush's answers troubling. Did I hear that right or did he say that one of his plans to help protect the environment is to harvest more timber?

That's funny because that is what I found was one of his strenghts. He said that he has his own personal feelings on the matter but he has to be responsible to ALL Americans, even those that he doesn't share his values. Good point I thought. Sounds like the man to end this partisan BS.

Those online polls are Bunk its always about the same outcome. The Cheney Edwards debate had about the same result though I havent seen one Dem look me in the eye and say Edwards crushed Cheney as those polls showed.

Bottom line they get repeated on the news alot all weekend.

Kerry's is crushing AGAIN.

The polls ask who won the debate, not whether one person "crushed" another. 90% of people can say Edwards won, but that doesn't mean that he "crushed" Cheney. So that's a lil misleading to make that correlation.

I don't know how it's going to be implemented in every area, but here in the West - it's a necessity. We have huge, dead forests (result of beetle infestation from the drought). They are just waiting to go up in smoke. These are the trees that they want cut.

Not to many of us older and um.. wiser.... folks bother with that stuff.

OK America is supposed to be a democracy... In a democracy Majority rules... Partisan BS would show that in fact the masses have to bend over and take it for a select few. What percentage of Americans support abortion?

According to a recent poll 51% of Americans believe that abortion is manslaughter opposed to the 35% that beleive it is not. 8% agreed with neither statement while 6% said they weren't sure.

If America is a democracy and has popular soverienty then abortion would would be a punishable offence.

If America was a true democracy, Bush wouldn't be our president now so we wouldn't even be having this discussion.

Bush was his usual sleezy self, inspite of this, he did perform better than last time. Lots of coaching.

It is so hard to be objective when you are as biased as i am. When you are 'pulling' for one candidate it is hard to be dispassionately centered.

I heard things from Kerry I wanted to hear. More importantly I felt he genuinely cares about people and their concerns.

This is going to sound harsh, but does anyone think that a lot of Bush's appeal is sort of groupie appeal? Sort of like a Rock Star.

Bush was much more appealling than the first debate. I think I saw him start to grimace, but then remembered to smooth over his face.

I especially liked the line "The military has to win the war, The president has to win the peace."

Both of them missed chances to really hammer the other.
Who thinks Bush's speech about the environment and science was ironic?

Those online debates are so easily swayed they dont mean squat. Theres a reason why Real scientific polls are not online. They even state that basically on most of those polls. It really just proves more Kerry people took the time to go to the polls and vote over and over again.

And if America was a true democracy, we'd have to vote nationally on absolutely every issue, which means we'd have still gone to war in Iraq. A majority of people approved of it when the invasion started.

Also means we'd still have 'tax cuts for the wealthy' and abortion would be murder, and Judeo Christian values would still frame our laws.......


But, sadly, this is but a Democratically Representative Republic.


Let's be done with it all and on November 2nd, vote me king. I can fix this country and give us back a surplus in three years. Really. May not be popular, but I can do it, and noone would have to go without work or healthcare or food or shelter if they didn't want to, but they'd have to want to have it to get it.

You certainly did, and it is a sound policy. Have you ever seen a forest that goes untended for years? Beds of pine needles a foot thick; tinder-dry branches just waiting for a spark. Look at some of the horrible forest fires that have happened in the western US.
