A former porn star is now reportedly working as a volunteer emergency medical technician in Virginia, where some are questioning her suitability for the job.

Harmony Rose, 29, is a volunteer for the Cave Spring Rescue Squad, where she has been working for the past several months after passing a criminal background check, WDBJ7.com reports.

Well, after reading this and comments about the story, I have to say I am disgusted with how people react. From what I have read, most people are condemenng her BECAUSE of her previous career. But she decided to get out of the business and better herself, and yet people are still judging her. One readers comment is:
DISGUSTING!!! Cave Spring has a load of members already. Why would Cave Spring want such negative attention? Of all places for her to land, why here? She needs to go back to where she came from!!!!!!! As far as Paul Bernards comment, she gave it all up alright. Made over 200 films? How many diseases did she pick up? Don't touch me!

How pathetic is that?I dont understand people, why must they hold someone's past over them, especially if theyre TRYING to BETTER themselves?

Good for her, shes bettered her self with some education and gotten a career that can carry her beyond just her youth.

Good looks fade, to many of these "sex" industry workers relies that too late and end up in prostitution.

Good for her.

Most reputable pornography production companies demand an STD test every week.

If she is healthy, she should be left the hell alone.

EXACTLY! Who cares what she did in the past, I dont think ANYONE here on this earth has a crystal clear past; some are better at hiding from it then others.
This gal might save the l;ife of someone, yet all they say is "she was a porn actress'
makes me sick

It's become a "hater" society, brother. Sad, but true. Just take this site for example...one of the first posts in almost every thread is some sarcastic idiot hunting for stars at the expense of the OP.

I'm in support of her doing this, and I agree with everyone else who says "Who cares?"
I'm sure when one of those nay-sayers who is *****ing and complaining about how she shouldn't be on the job is dying on the side of the road, they'll probably have a sudden change of mind about whether or not this woman is suited to offer medical assistance.

Yes sir! Agree 100% I've been a registered nurse for about 13 years and I was a stripper for a year or so before I became a nurse. I have an issue with the nay sayers. You actually think you get the right to judge people for the choices they make with there own bodies with participating adults. Check your wife/husbands/partners digital files... You may see her in there. He he he... HA HA HA! Sorry! Seriously she's doing something new. Who cares. If you can't handle the ideas that pass through your own head when you see her or are around her when she's working then sorry to tell you it's your problem. How do you recognize her anyways? My 2¢.

I find the solution is very simple. The Golden Rule. Too many think they're exempt, though, I'm a firm believer in karma as well, so it will balance itself out. Respect seems to be a character trait that has gone out of style for now, but hopefully things will change for the better sooner rather than later.

It's because we are a society of hypocrites!

And note that our finest examples of that reside in Washington, DC.

Maybe she can be an example of others who think about or attempt to go into the porn industry. No one thinks of the long term affects of one decision, and how it can affect others.

Just a thought...but in an emergency...why not have a porn star resuscitating me...sounds fabulous!

I am with the "good for her" group!!!

It's not like she was a convicted murderer or child molester out on parole working as an EMT!

I think any "trials" she's facing is more a product of flaws in society rather than anything she's done in the past. Who is anyone to judge her? Judge not lest ye be judged...safer to be in the porn industry as opposed to prostitution or other comparable income outlets anyways, imo.

This is ridiculous. I believe as long as this woman is not a health hazard or has a criminal history people need to leave this alone. This woman has chosen a better path for herself and as long as she is not a threat to the public that should be the end of it. It appears the busy bodies have been bored lately.

Fox news you have better things to report.

No, I didn't mean the decision to go into the porn industry for her. I mean using it for a time, then getting out to do something even greater (assisting in saving lives). Some will go into that industry and it will be all they know.

Since when, I thought this type of crap was their bread and butter.

Division and fluff pieces that hurt us all.

I just don't like how you've marginalized her past by saying only to do it for a time, or to do something greater. Quite frankly, I think a few of us would be quite content to make a decent living doing what they do. In fact, I suspect that's where a good deal of the spite (aka jealousy) comes in to play. To each his own. I hope she can look at the haters and just laugh.

Who cares what she used to do. If she wants to be an EMT and she's good at it then I see no problem. People shouldn't judge people for what they did in their past unless unless it's related to what they are doing and it's for dishonesty or for unprovoked violence and murder. You don't put a dishonest person in charge of a bank and you don't hire a known Pedophile to guard your kids. With her past what's the association? I suppose women are worried their husbands might be unfaithful if they call for assistance.
Judge her on her job performance not her last profession, she may be a great EMT. Christians should be happy for her for her career change.

I'm sure that town will never have a shortage of EMTs applying for a job with her there. I'm sure the EMT calls will increase in that town also, they'll never be worried about lack of work.

The funny thing is, most Christans are the MOST JUDGEMENTAL people Ive ever met. That being said, I was raised Catholic, and the ones I know, are VERY harsh judges of people. They go to church, pay their tithes, and tout how much they love God and Jesus, yet look down their noses at others for whatever reason. Thats not to say other people arent the same, Im just using the example I know.
We are a VERY unforgiving society, and people CAN change themselves, if they WANT to, but we dont look past that.
Hell, I know a sex offender that got in trouble for inapproiately touching a woman (NOT A CHILD), hasnt gotten in trouble with the law on over 10 years (not even a speeding ticket), yet hes still being treated as if it happened yesterday.
Yes, we dont forgive anyone. No wonder why we're still standing in the mud.
