I am a Republican living in Texas. I have friends in church as well as family and co-workers that share my political affilation. I thought maybe I was alone in my apathy and dissapointment in what the Republican party offered up as candidates this year but apparently that is not the case, at least in my small circle.

To this point I have not found a single person that says they are voting FOR Romney. To a man and woman, they say they will cast thier vote against Obama by pulling the lever for Romney. Not a single one of them believes he will bring any meaningful change, but all think that Obama will continue to make things worse so they have no choice. A few are considering not voting at all, they only have that luxury because in Texas the Republican candidate will walk away with it.

Now I am not talking about a huge number of people and it this is Texas. But to me this is feeling very much like Bush vs Kerry. Had the Dems put up anyone else other than that out of touch, stiff, rich, non personable guy (sound familiar?) Bush would have had a very good chance of being beat. Thank god for Kerry. However my worry is that the Democrats will be saying the same thing about Romney in just a few months.

Does this echo what any of you are experiencing? Are we going to see the lowest voter turnout in years with neither candidate having an enthused base?

I have an Evangelical background and all my family members I think, are staying at home. They may disagree with Obama , but they are not about to vote for the Anti-Christ because just because he's the other option. Nope. They will stay at home before committing that blasphemy. Evangelicals know what Romney really is and they are not about to damn their souls for some politics.

I think you'll see an incredibly HIGH voter turn out.

There are THAT many people who are awake to what the Obama administration is doing to America.

Just my humble opinion, of course.

I don't, and I don't want obama either.

So now what.

Also, Doesn't anyone else feel a little weird about making a man who believes if he is a good enough Mormon he will end up ruling as GOD over his own planet, the most powerful man in the world.

Im not kidding either, thats one of their views.

Talk about hubris... Didn't we fail with the last "religious president"

I mean I am christian and I wouldn't feel comfortable voting for a Fundamentalist ever.

Our 'choices' of candidates are not choices. I believe that as of now, I will not vote in the primaries. All these puppets are the -same- . Even no matter if Republican or Democrat. They are bought and paid for tools of the NWO to keep the PTB over us. I'm skeptical any grassroots revolution could oust that stuff, maybe the LIBORgate is The Change That we Can Believe In. Yes It Can??? < Just thinkin out loud)

Yes, I'm sure lots of people want him to be the President, and I can also tell you 99% of those people will vote for him because they completely despise the Obama administration and some of the things it has done. Same as the way Obama was voted in because they wanted to get Bush out. Thus the cycle repeats its self. And by the time we get to the end of Romney's term, people will be furious with his administration, and they'll be desperate to vote in anyone but him. This is how stupid people are... they can't see the obvious cycle happening right before their very faces. They fall for the same tactic time and time again without even realising it. They are blinded by their own anger. I just wonder how long they can pull this bullcrap off.

I did a thread on this a while back, how every where I went on a recent trip around the west cost, from so ca, to wa, and back

I didn't see any romney bumper stickers, what I saw was "nobama"

NObama 2012

Let's go back to 2004, when the democrats put up a stiff, wooden personality, rich, French speaking candidate. John kerry, appears on a superficial level to have many of the same attributes in common as Mitt Romney. The same attributes that lead to his defeat in 2004, at a time when many people couldn't stand Bush, and he lost... Fast forward to now, and what do we find? A very similar candidate, put up with very obvious "relatabillity" issues, the same shared by Kerry in fact, with much the same tactic of "anyone but him". By the party that is supposed to be trying to win the election... Really? These parties spend millions in research on how to win... And what they came up with was lets do the same thing that the Democrats did against bush?

This is what happens when you have years of "I vote Democrat because that is what my father voted," or "I vote Republican because that is what my father voted," inculcated into the populace. We have a bunch of fascist neo-cons who have hijacked the Republican party (effective Bush the First as VP under Reagan) and have now assumed effective control over BOTH PARTIES!

There has been ZERO DIFFERENCE between administration policies since Reagan was shot.

I am not voting for either one of these jack asses.

You said it much better than I.

It is funny/sad, but as upset as people are about a two party system, in the future, it will be a one party system. The tipping point is drawing ever closer, as more of the country becomes reliant on government giveaways, the candidate that does not support those giveaways will have no chance.

I am not falling for the media's bashing of Romney because he is rich.

I expect the President of the United States to have been successful in something other than politics before striving for the office.

This rules out Obama, who has never had a job outside of politics that wasn't given to him for political reasons.

John Kerry? Guy started out doing the right thing by serving his country, then stabbed his country in the back and married into wealth. Kerry doesn't hold a candle to Mitt Romney.

Romney 2012!

Yes there are people that want him. 2 types

1.) People that have their heads so far up their butt that they still believe that there is a difference in the Republican and Democrat parties and pick Republican because they always have.

2.) The Establishment of wealthy people that pull the strings in this country. Of course they don't care if Romney wins or Obama wins because they have picked out and paid for both of the two canidates.

amazing how Ron Paul is the only one who is truely ignored by the mainstream media who is funded and paid for by the Establishment.. its amazing that people don't wake up to this and pick him.

Glad to see the Ron Paul propaganda failed.

Keep it up though.

Very sad but entertaining at the same time.

I'm not voting for #### on a national level anymore, not worth my time or energy.

I will take a few minutes out of my day to vote on a local level.

I have been able to vote since Bush Jr. and so far I've only written in my vote.

Last time it was the Red Ranger. For his ability to lead a group of high shcool students in a rebellion against space aliens dead set on global domination. He was given a task that most people would easily shy away from, and I'd say did a really good job considering the cirumstances.

This coming election I've bene leaning towards voting for The Doctor from Dr. Who. He does a good job when thrown into similar situations and does it with a dinky flashlight looking object and his excellent persuasion skills.

Absolutely not. Romney will not guide this country to a place any better than Nobama has. They are both politicians plain and simple. I think Ron Paul would have been the best choice out of everyone in the mix. I always wanted to see Collin Powell run for president.

It's going to be a "anyone but Obama and Romney" year for me.

I just can't stop thinking that Romney is just another snake in the grass. Too secretive for my taste.

As a moderate republican you basically summed up my feelings on the coming election. While I don't have a lot of faith in Mitt Romney, I sure don't want another four years of President Obama. I'm not expecting much change overnight if Romney is elected, I do expect the extreme deficit spending and the hard driven socialist agenda to come under control if not cease.

At this point if it was only President Obama and Mickey Mouse on the ballot, I would be voting for Mickey Mouse.
