It certainly is a captivating theory. With that amount of armor though, it would seem he intended to engage LEOs.

I would think so also, but maybe he didn't have no rounds left when they got him.

Yes, the armor part is quite confusing... although it could be he snapped out it earlier than was intended. It's possible he was programmed to have a shoot out with the LEO's but he came back to reality sooner than was expected. Not really sure about that one... it could have multiple explanations.

It sounds crazy but its really not hard or expensive to do.

Someone should be doing this because I honestly believe that there is NOTHING in that apartment. There are no trip wires or bombs or chemical traps, there is nothing except maybe the bomb that the cops put there (if something blows up).

I edited down your post just to address the technical angles you've raised.

Trouble with using toy drones is the need for radio control. In the "hot zone" (around the apartment), Fire and Police were not even using their own radios on Thurs night/Fri am, because there is a risk of triggering a device via a local radio transmission. Fire Dept units going to the scene were even told by their Chief to shut down sirens before they got too close, for the same reason. (I was listening to the Fire and Police radio and wrote up details of this aspect on the original Aurora thread.)

The second part of your statement might be true if we wish to go the conspiracy route, but even if that were the case, they would still have to behave publicly as if there were such devices -- for the reasons I stated.

In fact, I'd be very suspicious if they did not adopt the standard "no radio" and other safety procedures that they have.

If we want to follow the conspiracy angle, that would not disallow devices being planted in Holmes' apartment, only the question of who planted them. And in that case, the emergency services (who would not have to know anything about such a conspiracy anyway) would approach this matter exactly as they have been doing. So, your possible conspiracy angle is in no way invalidated, whether there are really devices in the building or not.

I'm not supporting the conspiracy line over the alternative (ie lone perpetrator), just pointing out it's still feasible even if there are devices in the building.

Best regards,

Mike

I don't know why people are saying there are no explosives in there, or that we don't know and we should fly something in there to take a look. I just watched an interview with the sergeant/sheriff/chief (not sure exactly what his title was) who appeared to be in charge of the operation. He said they already have photos of inside the apartment and that it looks pretty horrifying because the whole setup appears to be extremely sophisticated.

It now appears the audio only 9news stream has gone out. If anyone has knowledge of any other stream let us know...

If you took the back of your watch off it would also look pretty horrifying and sophisticated if you had to find a way to make it stop. That comment does not reall y mean anything.

Here is a fox feed I am watching from a coffee shop in SF. It goes out every few minutes....just hit play again, and you are good to go. Very few static cameras in this one....and no commentary...which makes reading the ATS feed a nice compliment...

Agreed. My own post (above yours) was just to explore the angle raised by another member, who said that he (or she) believed there were no devices in the building.

It seems much more likely to me that there are devices in the building. The only question from a conspiracy-site point of discussion, is whether they were made and placed there by Holmes, or by another person or agency.

Their apparent sophistication puzzles me. Very few people really know how to make devices that leave bomb experts scratching their heads about which way to deal with them. So I'm left wondering about that.

The same goes for the question why Holmes was so well protected with his ballistic armor, etc. Perhaps it was to give him more time to survive and shoot it out with LE. But he made no attempt to shoot it out. So, (conspiracy angle) maybe he was dressed that way so he would more likely survive if LE took shots at him when they first arrived on the scene: that pretty impressive armor was to try and ensure he'd survive and could be taken into custody.

Meanwhile, in that scenario, the real shooter has already left the scene and Holmes is the brainwashed patsy. In this hypothetical case, Holmes never had to enter the theater at all. He could have been left sitting in his car the whole time and basically unaware of what was really going on.

It still leaves some holes but I'm sure far more complex scenarios have been carried out over the years by various organizations.

To someone who knows very little about how watches work, sure: your argument is perfectly valid. But to a watchmaker/specialist, it would be nothing special. The bomb disposal experts on site at that apartment are like the watchmaker. So when they talk about "very sophisticated" devices, they mean ones that are well outside the normal range of the usual home-made stuff they know of.

Which makes me wonder how this young guy put them all together. Not denying he could have, just wondering about it.

Best regards,

Mike

Yep... long wire now hanging out of window as they lower themselves.

edit: honestly, this seems like a fairly bad idea to me... a last resort.

They don't want any evidence to get out. And the two doing the wiring and photos, will disappear before the trial even starts.

Hi Jack,

I recall an interview with a lady from one of the other apartments, where she apparently did call the police but they couldn't come because they were all busy with the theater events. But yes, it makes sense that he could have set up his apartment (with the loud music on a timer) as a "red herring" event.

Mike

He still didn't have to confess about it though, and could have let cops just go steaming in there without warning them. But he didn't. Strange.

Things don't add up with this. And when things aren't adding up it's usually because it's fake/lies.

And all the live feeds being down is fishy too. Everyone knows how desperate newshounds are to be first to get exclusive footage, they will take all sorts of risks. They even have camera's that could capture an ant's smile from a mile away so being a safe distance wouldn't pose a problem I'm sure.

And I'm wondering who his legal representation is too. Does he have any?

Edit: ok live feed back up so disregard
