This is not accelerated ice melting, just the opposite. When glaciers are healthy then they calve a lot of ice. There has to be a lot of snowfall up
top to create the flow pressure needed to make the ice move. Anyways, a dying glacier recedes up the mountain and does not calve ice into the sea.
