A company that sells political items says that Obama stuff has made a significant "turnaround" in 2012 compared to 2008.

They report that items that were "pro-Obama" outsold "anti-Obama" 86% to 14% in 2008.

2012 is a different story --
"pro-Obama" = 45%
"anti-Obama" = 55%

They also claim the sale of merchandise can certainly indicate the outcome of elections !!!!!

I wonder. Could this be the true "election meter" ?....

Well, we‘ve come a long way from ’08 and it looks like syrupy, sentimental Obama gear isn’t very popular anymore. But more than just a decline in pro-Obama merchandise, there’s been a spike in anti-Obama gear.

“During the first six months of 2008, 86 percent of Obama-related sales at CafePress [an online merchandise store] were pro-Obama — just 14 percent were anti-Obama,” writes The Daily Caller’s Caroline May.

“Over the first six months of 2012, 45 percent of Obama merchandise sales have been pro-Obama, 55 percent have been anti-Obama,” she adds.

Pro-Obama online merchandise sales plummet, compared to ’08 election

By comparison, presumptive Republican nominee Mitt Romney‘s merchandise ratio has fared better.

Over the same 2012 time frame, 95 percent of Romney gear purchases have been pro-Romney — just 5 percent have been anti-Romney.

You do know.. most pro-Obama people who buy pro-Obama merch probably already have enough pro-Obama merch and don't need to buy more; hence sales down. &anti-Obama merch surging because it's around election time and Obama is pres; so naturally people who are against him will want to purchase anti-merch...
