Hello ATS

My first thread and I'm in the General Entertainment, didn't expect this at all (in a good way).
Anyways, my friend and I make independent films, and I forgot to post this and see what you guys think. I also act, and I'm also in this one (you'll just have to guess which one). Its a short 10:00 minute film we made that follows the story of a Russian civilian caught in the midst of a Nazi camp on the eastern front, and how this "subhuman" interacts with the "purest race of all". I hope you guys enjoy it, we went a step further making this one and its no Hollywood quality but its done with a lot of hard work. Thank you

Powerful short bro, keep it up! We often discuss the parallels between US imperialism and the Third Reich, your film shines with a bright light on the dehumanization a superiority complex can cause. The striking legacy of Guantanamo.

Would love to give you many more stars and flags, if only so that it could stay on the front page longer...

Thank you./PG13

Wow. Thanks a lot for the positive feedback guys
There was a lot of talk on WWII (Hitler) these couple of days and I thought this short had some different elements that everyone can pick up on and overall just enjoy something else besides the daily doom porn. I'm glad you guys like it, I honestly didn't know the kind of a feedback I was going to get.

Cheers.

Really interesting and well done. I really enjoyed the photography. The acting was really good too.
But a few question arises:

What was your main motivation to do a nazi short film?
About the bold officer. Why so quick with his gun?

Congratulations for your creation.

Well, this is the first short that I wasn't much involved in to be honest. The story was written by Dragos, the actor playing the Romanian guy so as far as the story it was his personal outlook. The bold officer was quick with his gun because he "disrespected" them. It illustrates how malicious the nazis were, no empathy what so ever for another human. They were going to kill him anyways, might as well have some fun first torturing him and treating him like an animal. I hope you get what I'm saying here.

I appreciate your response. Regardless of the role you had in the short film production, I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the work and the fact that you are part of the ATS comunity. Congratulations again.

I understand your explanation, but in your argument precisely lies something that I can not yet understand.

Let me explain. If the Romanian character was going to be killed no matter what, then, no matter how much or lack of respect he could show them, they would kill him anyway, so it was better to play with him... But do not kill him first. They needed a reason to feel superior. Right?

If I understood the context of the short film, we talk about the need of a German officer, to prove a simple point, that Aryans were superior (there was no discussion about it), but argued that non-Aryans occupied the level of an animal.

If this was so, the complete lack of respect for a supposedly superior race and lack of intelligence in the forms, shown by an animal, was expected. Because, how can someone is offended by the actions of a chimpanzee?

Therefore, the officer should not have been so excessively fast to defend his honor or that of their peers.

That is precisely the reason that makes me wonder about his reaction. I hope I did make sense.

Enough LOL. I ask you to consider my thoughts as a compliment to your work and the team that you were part.
I really enjoyed the movie.

Regards.

I understand your point of view and haven't myself payed much attention to why the officer who reaches for his gun quickly to "get rid of him" because I thought I understood why he made that choice. You were correct when you stated the lack of intelligence by the "animal" was expected, but the exact opposite actually happened. This "animal" started speaking German which literally left their mouths open. He started quoting Shakespeare and basically showing how intelligent he was even though he was only looked upon as an animal. That backfired on the Nazi soldier who quickly went for his gun to "shut him up" but was stopped by his superior, not his peer. That is what I captured from that short scene. Nonetheless, I thank you for your kind words.
