The second link may have been a mistake. Romney's name never appears in the article. Were you thinking of something else?

No, the second link goes into detail about the pledge that they signed and how it could end up affecting the entire porn industry and basically be an all-out ban.

See, there's also a difference between enforcing the law and "vigorously" enforcing the law.

Dear CoolerAbdullah786,

This whole thing is making my head spin, I guess I'm just not bright enough to follow along. I went back to your second link. It says Santorum and Bachmann signed the pledge, but I will bet a nickel that Romney isn't associated with it in any way. There is nothing in the article that even hints Romney signed it.

And "enforce" v. "vigorously enforce?" There may well be a difference, but I wouldn't know how to describe it. My feeling is that if you have a law, enforce it vigorously or get rid of it. Then again, the "vigorously" may have been just political speech, an extra emphasis, I don't know. It seems a pretty thin reed to hang fear on.

With respect,
Charles1952

If I was going to vote for this guy, this would've lost any support I might have had.

It's no business of the government to regulate sexual activities in the privacy of their own house and bedroom.

You can not be for small government and be this intrusive into someone's life.

See! Another good reason to vote for Obama! We already have pictorial evidence that Obama isn't afraid to sneak a peek at the booty, but then we have stuffy ol' Romney trying to take down internet porn?

I don't support either candidate, but it seems the Republican Party has become the party of over-regulation and destruction of liberties. Republicans have gotten so far from their conservative roots that they are unrecognizeable.

You're wrong.

Both parties want to over-regulate everything, not just one. They're just following their own interests on what they want to over-regulate.

This is one weakness of the Constitution, is it doesn't prevent over-regulation.

Stopping porn?

Oh, I agree, but the Democrats are at least open about it. The Republicans are supposed to be the Conservatives!

I'm a registered Republican, but I disagree with about half of the platform these days. I disagree with more than half of the Democrat platform. Really, I empathize with both the Tea Party AND the Occupy movements. I'm both extreme right, AND extreme left.

We need to repeal laws, get people out of prisons, stop mandatory sentencing, stop adding to the debt ceiling, start lowering taxes on EVERYONE, including corporations, and get out of the Middle East, and legalize drugs, prostitution, porn, or whatever else people want to do to themselves.

Let the government worry about protecting our borders instead of our bedrooms.

That's not true. It mentions in the first link that Mitt Romney also signed this pledge. That's why I directed you to the second link.

I'm married, but I'll admit, I like my porn. In fact, my wife likes it too. In further fact, we watch it together. It's one of our things.

But I'm not worried. First of all, Mitt is going to lose to Obama. Second, even if he won, there's not a snowball's chance in hell he would ever effectively ban porn.

***snip**

Is that because there is a lot of porn watching in the Wite House?

On a serious note:
I've said it before and aren't afraid to repeat it.
My two daughters are better off wathing porn (european decent porn - not American Gonzo) than wathing all those violent films coming out of Hollywood Land.
(be fair every American vehicle or building seem to vanish in huge fireballs - even a soccer mom's atv explodes in a fireball just by hitting a pedestrian.)

I'd rather have my daughters learn to make love than learn to kill and mame.

I'm not voting for Mr. Romney.

Around the time Trueman says he received those assurances, Romney signed Morality in Media's anti-porn pledge along with Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum, whom he was still battling for the GOP nomination. Since then, he hasn't mentioned the issue very often.

I'm convinced that the GOP isn't serious about the Romney nomination for the presidency.
He just makes one bonehead move after another to sabotage his own candidacy.

His PR guys don't seem to care that either he or Ann are essentially giving the Obama camp so much
ammunition to use against the Republicans. Obama is going to shred poor Mitt in the debates.

Romney's campaign is being so poorly run that it in itself is turning into an obscene act.

This is the only thing I would support Romney on...
Porn has made me feel lesser-than a woman. I don't have a full body, I'm tiny, I don't have big T&A, so there for, I'm not a woman. TOTALLY designed to destroy the individual, and destroy marriages and relationships. It has ruined relationships in the past because they couldn't understand that I wanted to be the only woman they had eyes for...Wouldn't vote for the guy, but he's got my support for banning porn.

Many men (like me) prefer a very petite woman. My wife weighs about 90lbs. I think she is gorgeous.

Men think they are attracted to certain things, but in reality we are drawn to pretty skin, bright eyes, healthy hair, confidence and directness.

HeHe!

I hate to hear a woman talk about feeling "less of a woman." It hurts me. I LOVE ALL women. I wish they could all come live with me in Utah.
Seriously though, I really do wish I could make all the women feel special. It baffles me that something like porn, or a stupid fashion magazine can make women feel so terrible?

And to think all this time I never realized the big problem in the world is porn.

Would've figured there was other stuff more important.

Going to have to side with olaru on that one. Not the fake, plastic women on porn videos, but natural, voluptuous women. Not that any woman should feel bad about themselves for being petite though, different strokes for different folks and there's probably a man out there for every type of woman and more.
