And thus his true Mormonistic colours begin to reveal themselves.

If that nut job cultist gets into the office it's going to be a sad day for America.

They say "fix the economy." But what they really mean is "impose the morals of the religious right on the entire country."

Oh I don't doubt it, but that's probably what they want. If the California economy collapses, people will leave and go elsewhere more than likely. It will lower the quality of living there and more than likely turn the state from Blue to Red.

Here is the way I see it, 90% of the right has got to be mentally retarded because they all get real touchy on the gun topic and about how it's our right to own one but porn is somehow different... This is only one of the very many reason I do not pick a side. I support the right to own firearms and porn! You will never catch me voting for anybody who claims they want to take more away from the people or give us more rules to follow.

I got something that will really get this country back on it's feet again....a war on porn. We'll arrest Jenna Jameson and Ron Jeremy and bring them to one of our secret black prisons outside the country to interrogate....wait a second hasn't this porn already been made?

I think the only sillier thing a presidential nominee had as a part of his platform was Newt's Moon base.

The article said only that Romney would enforce existing laws, not ban porn or make new laws. I welcome evidence to the contrary.

We're talking about a man whose cult allows open polygamy and believes that golden plates read out of a hat (that happen to parallel a number of publications released at the same time) constitute a holy book. I wouldn't put anything past him, especially with a Christian Conservative majority in the House.

Here ya go, Charles. Sometimes you have to follow the trail. First is this:

Three Leading GOP Presidential Nominees Pledge To Be Tough On Porn which at the bottom of the entire link leads you to this story:

ThinkProgress has previously explained how right-wing efforts to vigorously enforce obscenity laws would effectively ban all pornography.

Read BOTH links in their entirety. They are not just attempting to "enforce existing laws."

Dear CoolerAbdullah786,

Thanks for going out of your way to provide the links. Here is the first link's reference to Romney from a written statement:

“(I)t is imperative that we cultivate the promotion of fundamental family values. This can be accomplished with increased parental involvement and enhanced supervision of our children. It includes strict enforcement of our nation’s obscenity laws, as well as the promotion of parental software controls that guard our children from Internet pornography.”
I miss the objectionable part, and there's nothing else about Romney in the article.

The second link may have been a mistake. Romney's name never appears in the article. Were you thinking of something else?

With respect,
Charles1952

Notice the lack of ATS conservatives on this thread.
I wonder why....

With all the current problems to solve, now porn has to be added.

What a waste of time and money at this point.

I wonder if Mister Gippetto will make Mitt Romney a real boy soon.

The statement below seems to indicate a willingness to add onto existing obscenity laws, I don't ever recall any laws requiring porn filters on every computer. Forcing computer makers to install these filters would require additional laws wouldn't it?

Romney has promised that if elected president he would require every new computer be sold with a porn filter.

And all the while he and his aids talk about the dangers of pornography while taking campaign contributions from Daniel Staton, the chairman of Friend Finder Networks Inc. that owns —among several other properties — Penthouse, BDSM sites like Bondage.com and BDSM.com, and LikeMyNudePhoto.com. Romney also accepted $2,000 from Staton and an additional $2,300 from Friend Finder Network CEO Marc Bell during his failed 2008 presidential campaign.

He seems to have lost his moral high ground in the war against porn with guys like this partially financing his campaign.

LOL, this is just so funny when comparing to the other ATS thread mentioning Romney's senior adviser saying we need to stop obsessing over Afghanistan and focus on more important issues that REAL AMERICANS care about.

So I guess REAL AMERICANS want to crack down on porn.

Romney = Crash & Burn.

'Crack'

'Porn'

Just had to.

Peace

Dear bphi1908,

Thank you for catching that, I was wrong. instead of saying "not ban porn or make new laws," I should have said "not ban porn or make new laws restricting porn. You caught me being lazy.

In the videos you referred me to, Romney is saying that he wants software or a device pre-installed that would allow parents to filter porn away from their children. Being under the control of the parents, they could watch all the porn they wanted. no new restriction. This also does not seem to be a terrible idea, in fact, don't we have that built into Windows browsers now?

And donations totalling $4,300 in 2008 from companies which have some porn businesses among the other businesses they own means he has no moral high ground in 2012? I don't see it.

With respect,
Charles1952

Right. Crack down on porn, you doofus, and destroy whats left of the economy. Last time I checked, porn was worth more than mainstream movies and video games, combined.

They already have a leg up. Because of racial profiling and the "war on drugs", all of our prisons are "black prisons".

They all do this. It's so f'in Hollywood. It's called trolling -- the act of provoking a response to gain popularity or attention.

So sick of hearing this guys name followed by some stupid trash threat.

I bet he's got stockpiles at home and a favorite hooker on speed dial.
