The newspaper Haaretz writes that several people have been killed, citing sources in the Israeli Foreign Ministry. The magazine lists the number of deaths to at least seven and nearly 20 injured. Bulgarian police say that at least three people have been killed.

Several media reports this as a terrorist act. A witness says that a suicide bomber blew up the bus (Reuters). According to Burgas Mayor Dimitar Nikolov the explosives the explosives were placed in the luggage compartment of the bus

The airport is for the time being closed and all aircrafts diverted to the city of Varna.
