A tanker carrying 40,000 litres of fuel and packed with explosives was intercepted by Afghan security forces and US forces in southern Afghanistan, The tanker would have killed up to hundreds of people and was meant to disrupt Afghanistan elections due to take place on Saturday.

Colonel Ishaq Paiman, deputy spokesman for the Afghan defence ministry, said: "This would have caused hundreds of deaths ... and the electoral process would have been derailed in the area."

Nato peacekeepers' spokesman, Lieutenant Commander Ken MacKillop, said three Pakistanis were arrested.

Commander MacKillop also said that two men, one Afghan, one Pakistani, were arrested in the eastern city of Jalalabad while waiting to travel to Kabul.

There is still itimidation from localised factions ascribed to not wanting an election because they want "war lord power" - but the election will still take place Saturday no matter what happens.

After the success they enjoyed by derailing the Spanish elections, it would seem their main focus now is in disrupting elections. Especially in Arab/Muslim countries that are leaning (being directed) towards democracy, and our western allies.

The religion of peace strikes again. This attempt by the Islomofacist was tharwarted but don,t believe there won,t be another attempt. The bastards in dirty head scarfs won,t stop until the chash flow becomes a trickle. Money fuels all organizations wether they be human or inhuman in structure. This will not stop until the money tap is completely closed.
