Energy Dept. 'Unable to Locate' $500,000 in Equipment Bought With Stimulus Money

More standard operations of inefficiency, ineptitude, and general clumsiness !!

Now we see some "missing" equipment.

I would say the screw up was actually due to some "inefficiencies" in the magic (and most likely forged) paperwork that was supposed to be in a file cabinet somewhere.

Read the whole story ..... it's a good one !!!

(CNSNews.com) –An audit conducted by the Energy Department’s Office of Inspector General proved "unable to locate" $500,000 worth of equipment purchased with stimulus money by a recipient of funds distributed through the deparment's “Advanced Batteries and Hybrid Components Program,” according to an audit report published by the OIG.

The DOE said it would not be "appropriate" to release the name of stimulus-money recipient where the $500,000 worth of equipment could not be located.

The program was given nearly $2 billion in stimulus funds "to support the construction of U.S. based battery and electric drive component
manufacturing plants." As of June, DOE had "expended" about $1.2 billion of that money and had made grants to "30 for-profit manufacturers," according to the July 10 audit report ...[article continues]
The story goes on with many quotes that must be from the unofficial college level "manual" that lists all diversions & excuses for failure

I particularly liked this part;

The DOE said it would not be "appropriate" to release the name of stimulus-money recipient where the $500,000 worth of equipment could not be located.
Gee I wonder WHY ?

They really make the corruption obvious sometimes !!

I wonder what the "Carbon Footprint" amounted to ?

Yeah, it's only appropriate to name names when it's a political campaign in full attack mode. Then it's every name back to someone's grade school janitor who might have something nasty to say in the most passing of ways. Fair game! Attack!

Oh..My...but when it's REAL criminal activity and WILL embarrass the hell out of some Government Officials, it's suddenly totally inappropriate to discuss. I love the situational ethics they work with these days. I'm looking real hard here.....hard as I can...but this big thing blocking my view and saying I can't see everything seems to obstruct all that transparency I was told we'd see record setting levels of. This is about as transparent as granite.

Odd huh?
