( An Ode for Justice )
Where is this thing that they call freedom
That fights for truth and seeks the common good
That binds the terror, bigot and the bully
And pays the price with brave young Soldiers blood.
Embroidered mouths of public schoolboy leaders
Belittle those who earn their right to speak
They fill the coffers of the rich and powerful
and walk on those who they consider weak.
Still many Politicians break their promise
And punishment for wrong instils no fear
So lawless Streets continue to claim victims
And shatter lives of those who hold them dear.
And those of us who find that we are different
And not by choice attracted to the same
When finding love as pure as any other
Are outcast, mocked and told we should feel shame
Then men of God resplendent in their costumes
Will preach to us within their Hallowed halls
That same sex union leads us to damnation
While paedophiles find refuge in their walls.
Our Children who we love without conditions
Who look to us to meet their every need
When out of sight, fall victim to the bully
and every other on line evil deed.
And victims in their tortured isolation
Their spirit broken ,feel all hope is lost
Decide to leave this life where all forsake them.
One more young life is added to the cost.
