Once again, narcissistic and egotistical.

The US has been in Iraq for nearly a decade and you can't even beat some farmers with Kalashnikovs. How the Hell do you suppose the US will handle 250,000 Revolutionary Guards (Who are bloody fanatical), 550,000 Active Troops, 650,000 Active reserves and over 11 million paramilitary with twice the land mass of Iraq and treble the population.
While the US is strong, no doubt, I doubt they are going to be able to beat 12 million odd Iranians who are well armed, well fed (Yeah, well fed. Do you really think Ahmadinejad is going to risk pissing off armed troops?) and ready to martyr themselves for Iran. We will watch and wait and see how Iran reacts when the US comes a knocking.

Iran just tested its New carrier killer in their latest "great prophet 7" War games. It is a optical and laser guided missiel. They scored a direct hit on two separet occations.

They also nailed the moc up they made of a American airfield base.

I personally believe Iran is capable of causing some problems for the US.

Really Wrabbit...you haven't seen the video of the female protestor dying in the street in Iran? The protests are there...its just that the regime cracks so hard down on them that video is hard to come by.

Iran is being taught a lesson right now and they are learning.

the lesson is...you are not like the US, scale down your ambitions and live long.

That's got to be the biggest load of BS I've heard in a long while, and believe me I've heard a lot lately.

Iran is being taught a lesson...?

The lesson is...you are not like the US, scale down your ambitions and live long?

I hope you're on the front lines fighting this war because it's people like you who deserve to be there.

I have a problem with the story because it uses one source and provides no source for military deployment as they assert, from the RT link in the OP:

Simultaneously, to give their sanctions policies some military support, the US is sending fourth air carrier to the Persian Gulf region. It has also been announced that America deploys underwater drones to deal with sea mines Iran might plant in the Strait of Hormuz to block the vital route.

According to who? And then it says, "It has also been announced..." Again, by who?

I dug a little to see about any major deployments to the region and could not find anything that makes this story valid or true. There is no attribution regarding the deployment, in that they do not give any source other than "it has been announced." By who?

During my digging, I did find this, and it does not mention Iran:

MAYPORT, Fla. (NNS) -- Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Gary Roughead officially re-established U.S. 4th Fleet and named Rear Adm. Joseph D. Kernan as its commander during a ceremony at Naval Station Mayport July 12.

U.S. 4th Fleet Officially Re-established

IMO, RT story is warmongering propaganda.

WWIII will be about people reduction & the elites' attempt to rule the world. They have their underground bunkers & are prepared (this is the version I believe is about to take place).

Someone mentions China & Russia coming over to US if there is an attack by the US. That would be convenient for US not to have to take out it's own people.

Also, God's Role in this, if indeed there is an amping up of solar activity this year, & the very fact, the book of revelation is coming to pass (not to mention many other prophecies), this is about good versus evil at it's core.
There is a place THE LORD Puts His Foot back onto the earth to take back control (brining an end to evil).

It alway amazes me the arrogance as well of those that believe the US is all powerful & cannot be messed with. There is a much larger picture involved that is being played out in full force NOW. switch the letters of NOW around a few times, NOW, NWO, WON. GOD WILL WIN this battle.. This (I believe) will be the battle of armegeddon.
(my comments aren't unique I realize but I want to say that I too see this is unfolding & The True Leader Will Be In Charge once again > THE ALMIGHTY GOD & FATHER In Heaven!

There is no doubt that the US wants yet another War. This is the one they want and they will keep poking the bear until they get their War. Simple.

It's as if the US just can't go without War. It's a disease amongst the leaders and a sense of pride amongst many citizens. Very obvious with some of the posters even on ATS. And to clarify, NOT all Americans fall into this mold.

Make no mistake. There will be War and this time the US will most likely get bit by the bear they keep poking. It's only arrogance that keeps them from knowing it.

Peace

Or maybe its because our government and economy are so in-grained into each other, that the US will fall if there isn't a war. Think about how many government contracts with civilian companies will be ended or the large amount of soldiers unable to reenlist.

Good question there! Every post of his has me asking the same question every time. Like others will say, you do get used to it from him eventually.

Most crazy thing is that US and France had started to help Iran to get nuclear weapons, before the Iranian revolution of 1979.
Link: www.atlantico.fr...
The article is unfortunately in French, so I will summarize it. It is an article about a book written by Edouard Valensi.
E. Valensi has been working for 10 years as the head of the team who is organising the French nukes, employed by the French defense ministry.
. He says that in 1959, the Teheran nuclear research center is created. It has been equipped with a 5MW research reactor provided by Washington. This reactor became operational in 1967, using highly enriched uranium.
. in 1974, France borrowed 1,18 billion $ to Iran, who in turn received 10% shares of Eurodif (French company specialised in uranium enrichment), and 10% of Eurodif production.
France promises Iran to build 5 nuclear plants, via Framatome (merged in 2001 with Siemens to become Areva), and to provide enriched uranium to Iran.
France also promises to build a nuclear (research?) center in Iran, via Technicatome (absorbed by Areva in 2006).
. at the same time, an agreement was reached between Iran, Westinghouse and General Electrics.
. in 1976, US president Gerald Ford approves the sale to Iran by US of a nuclear fuel treatment installation, which can extract plutonium (!!!).
Ayatollah Khomeiny takes power in 1979, and all these things are basically frozen (France kicks Iran out of Eurodif).
In 1991 France had to reimburse 1,6 billions $ to Iran due to the Eurodif issue.

all this seems legit to me, knowing that Israel received lots of information regarding nuclear weapons design from France (that, plus drawing of the Mirage 3, which became the IAI Kfir when built by Israel), in return for attacking Egypt (to retaliate against the Egypt action against France and UK in the Suez canal).

I would have to agree, against my tendencies to do so, that the US is creating a real life large scale game of dare. Some may think this is a logical move, increasing the pressure and showing the capacity the US has, but no matter what the United States ability is, no matter the destruction possible, Iran could throw everything they have into the jackpot.

Once a state entity/power is pushed into a corner it knows the only direction out of is to cede something which is unacceptable it may likely back up its bark with a bite despite what could possible happen to it. It's kind of like a smaller dog attacking a bigger one that has it backed up. Therefore increasing the pressure in this manner and to this level definetely, at least to me, is not a wise or well thought out step, but you would excpect the policy planners and decision makers of the US to be wise to some degree? They did after all show extensive research and foresight in the case of Iraq and Afghanistan... (sarcasm for those that couldn't notice)

I've seen it. I've also seen and been in one or two Occupy protest videos here. To watch some, especially last year, you'd think it represented America and the whole nation was falling to pieces around us. In reality, we have thousands involved in that within a nation of over 300 Million. To call it a minority doesn't capture the sense of it.

Likewise in Iran. I saw the protests and for what it's worth, I watched Obama and Hillary fiddle and wring their hands while Iranians died and Tehran nearly burned awhile back. No help then and no interest in doing more than making a few pretty statements. Well... too bad....I don't support killing thousands now when peacefully support thousands then wasn't worth the time of day.

The BIGGEST point here tho.... The protesters you cite are few in a nation of 70 million. When the Iranian population has truly had enough, they MORE than outnumber those who hold power and they'll surely make that fact known in bloody relief for all to see. Until then? It's not our country, it's not our region and it's NOT OUR BUSINESS to be involved at all, IMO.

Almost daring Iran to strike. Well it would be foolish on their part. Threats of the Bear or not. Nobody wants WW-III.

Except for half of the members on this site. Most of the posts are not talking about WWIII as much as wishing and hoping it will happen. It's a sad thing to watch - there are just a lot of people that are so bored with their mundane lives, they pray for a disaster or a war to break out. Instead of enjoying the simple things in life, they'd rather there be fear and death and suffering... as long as it's exciting to watch.

I get weary of the America hate threads - the U.S. is an evil, bad monster who crushes all these happy-go-lucky, innocent countries with clever, bright, inherently good and great leaders.

Reality is something people talk about a lot, but they ignore it whenever it is convenient for them to do so.

I firmly agree wrabbit. The American people have pointed out they want no war. This is either a ploy to maintain good standing with Israel or another money making interest under the guise being in the best interest of international security. Either way us trying to provoke a war with a nation, whose people also don't want a war, just isn't right. Now let the political rhetoric continue on both sides.

I have to laugh at some of the comments on this thread. Iran will 'unleash the dogs of war'? Really? IF Iran tried to back up their bark with a bite they would get their heads kicked in. Iran isn't much farther along militarily than Iraq was and the Iraqi military was crushed.
Remember how hard it was for Iran to fight to a draw against Saddam, and you think they really stand much of a chance against the American Military? Their one chance would be a guerilla war and just hope to outlast the American Military machine.
Personally I think that the younger Iranians would take advantage of the war to completely remove those in the existing power structure that the American Military missed. Just my own thoughts.

peace

I am in The US. The US is playing a very dangerous game. We can beat any 10 counties hands down but what is going to happen when the whole world jumps us at once? We are making far too many enemies. At some point the world is going to get feed up with the way things are with the US pushing the rest of the world around and decided we need put on our place. In fact this WW III people keep talking about could be the US on one side and the rest of the world on the other side.
Remember even the mighty elephant can fall to the lonely ant when there is enough of them.

The war against the US will be won, not by arms, but by the financial destruction it is causing.

I never expected I would ever say this but Fleabit you are very right in what you say, but I have a feeling that a lot of people can feel at this time something is brewing, and I don't think it's because people are bored with life, I think it is because people feel now they are not listened to any longer by powers that be.
In the UK the rish are getting richer, the poor getting poorer by the day, things go up by 30% in shops, your money to spend goes down by 70%, if you spend £20 on food here now, it gets you just £11 of food compared to 2010, the more money Cameron prints the higher are costs in shops.
At the end of the day people are feeling the pips squeak and they know as I do and yes maybe you too that only war has ever changed these times.
I however feel that WW3 is much more closer than 3 years ago, but I am sure we are okay for another number of years before the USA are destroyed and people once again become happy.

If the White House is daring Iran to strike first they better think again. The Iranian Govt is far more educated and more intelligent than those idiots in Washington. Ya think Iran does'nt know what the White House is up to?

The Persians are NOT like the Libyans, Egyptians or Syrians!

The only thing left for the White House to do now is stage a false flag attack and blame it on Iran; the only other alternative is to block all aircraft and ships going in or out of Iran in international skies and waters which would completely choke Iran.

What's new in this story?

We've had carriers parked for some time daring someone to sink them.

The media probably has a contingency of "emergency outrage" stories already written for various scenarios -- just need to enter the time, date, and names of victims.

Have you ever watched RT. Their news casting is very biased and although It is interesting to compare what bull# the Russian media feed their citizens compared with the BS we in the west get fed At the end of the day it is all just Bull#,

The media agencies should be ashamed of themselves and need to start being accountable for how they portray the news just as bankers and politicians are now being brought to account for their poor professionalism.
