Hell no, they shouldn't have the credit, they shouldn't own their small business, or be making so much money because they had an idea and worked their whole life for it... Their business belongs to the government so it can share the hard work of Mom and Pop with the freeloaders... WHERE IS MY BAILOUT!!!

What a load of garbage, the government didn't build a damn thing. It is the people, their sweat, their tears and their blood that builds a nation. It seems that those in government, from both parties, have forgotten this. Without the people, the government is nothing.

Interesting that you get that from that.... I read it like this:

You have all the hardworking men and women of your country to thank for your prosperity. Therefore it is only right that you give something back and contribute.

If you view this from Obamas point of view... the government is you... or atleast it should be you... and your neighbour etc.
Therefore everyone you know are the ones who made sure that your products could get shipped, that your were able to read an email and buy food for your family... YOU didn't make that happen by yourself, and YOU should be able to repay society for the good things it's done for you.

You can't just acquire things at your leisure and then not give a # about everyone else... that is not a social mindset, that's not how the world is supposed to work.

I can tell you very precisely what will happen if this egotistical way of thinking continues... we have seen it happen again and again the last 2000 years (and probably also before that). It's called revolution... people will get killed, even people who thought they were enjoying life and were safe from harm because they have so and so much wealth and wealth buys security and all that BS... but in the happen, nothing can stop a horde of angry people from the middle and lower class. They will mow you down like weak leaves of grass and piss on what ever of you remains.
The funny thing about angry mobs is you can't win. You can't stop them, and you can't kill them because you are entirely DEPENDED on the common man for keeping your business running. How will you make money if you shoot the guy on the other side of the counter over price complaints or complaints about you not paying taxes or just hoarding money?

Ironically, even though this has happend several times, people with a greedy mindset seem to forget this.

The world is meant for sharing... nothing more.

It is hilarious that it is so foreign to some people that others don't think they are better than everyone else.

I'm pretty damn successful...but I couldn't be successful today without millions of other people before me doing what they did.

For anyone to think "I'm super successful and it's all because I am the most awesome person in the world" is just moronic and self-centered arrogance.

a bit of balance here I think , for sure you cannot just be successful on your own as you need other people to work with, trade with etc.

What Obama thinks (in my opinion) is that this is evidence for a greater, more powerful and pervasive State- which I think stifles success

I think what he is saying is "it's all about who you know". Kind of like the government helping all women to succeed whether they deserve it or not and leaving men to rot in the fields that they have earned over the years and in some cases clearly more qualified for. It helps to know the government. That was just a blatant and obvious example of something I have noticed fore years in every vocation I have worked in, but it would apply to other situations as well, I'm sure. I don't like Obama, but I think this is what he's trying to say.

I suppose it wasn't you that took his comments out of context. Somebody else did that. Seriously, I'm not a fan of the guy, but this evident dislike for Obama dosen't warrant exaggerating every comment he ever makes. He has a valid point, if it weren't for those who laid the foundations for the American system, that assisted you in your education (both in school, the workplace and life in general) and for those that provide all those vital services, whatever business you may own now or have created would not exist. That is a valid point, although he stated it perhaps a little more ambiguously than I did.

Carefull kids, the Barackenstein is coming to get you in your sleep with his ambigous commentary.

It's now clear than ever, that looking past the president election's (the circus), the true power of goverment (oil/banks/Military–industrial complex) have lost touch with reality, its a gang of military thugs that run USA.

They are not looking out for the U.S best interest, only to a degree of making sure they don't lose.

Just an aside from all this.... Wait until harvest season this year when all the crop failure will be accounted for. The world population and armies move on their belly. Hunger makes all the difference. And to the US, hunger can be wide reaching with many countries involved as our aid diminishes. I believe one day soon, a great deal of entitlements will vanish. I also believe that too many people put far too much trust in their PC's, Cell's and devices, and without them would be functionally paralyzed. The 'Boomers', to a lesser degree, since they remember a world without these devices. We have pretty much lost the ability to be self sufficient and remedy whatever comes our way.

Here's the bottom line. We need a leader.

Obama was recently interviewed where he admitted that his biggest regret and frustration was not being able to break the stalemate of Congress.

In the beginning, I admit that he tried hard to compromise, but it was short lived.

After that, how many times did we see him give up by handing down a budget or proposal to Congress only to walk away and hit the campaign trail in order to avoid any leadership role in reaching a decision.

He has made it quite clear by his actions that he does not wish to even try and lead them, but leave them to their own devices.

We need someone who's going to step up and lead Congress to the bitter end regardless of the outcome.

The government did not build anything. They contracted with large and small businesses to build roads, and other infrastructure. The tax dollars from individuals, as well as large and small businesses paid for them to do so.

The government is trying to survive the excessive spending habits by saying it helped us all make moeny. Hogwash.
