Reid: Romney couldn't be confirmed as dog catcher

Washington (CNN) – Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid blasted Mitt Romney Thursday in personal and biting terms, so to speak, telling reporters the presumed Republican presidential nominee could not be confirmed as "dog catcher" by the Senate.

A day earlier, Reid said on the Senate floor that Romney "couldn't get approved" as a Cabinet officer, because "he won't show anybody his income tax returns."

But wait a minute Harry;

"If he doesn't qualify to be a Cabinet officer, how could he qualify to be President?" Reid asked Wednesday.

Thursday, he took it a step further.

"He not only couldn't be confirmed as a cabinet secretary, he couldn't be confirmed as dog catcher. As a dog catcher, you'd at least want to get a look at his tax returns," said Reid with a look of disgust on his face.

Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV): "Mitt Romney, if he tried to be confirmed as a member of the cabinet, would never make it. Why? Because we ask all people who come before the Senate to give us their income tax returns. He's afraid to do that. Why? Because he's parked most of his money -- I shouldn't say most, he's got a lot. He's parked money overseas [and] basically hasn't paid taxes because he has tax havens and tax shelters [in] Switzerland, Bahamas, Grand Cayman Islands. I mean, he's not qualified to be a cabinet officer, let alone President of the United States."

Romney isn't qualified. And just because Reid is right, doesn't mean that Obama is qualified himself. Reid probably could eat his own words at some point too.

But yes, Romney gets a break because he is a part of the elite rich in this country. If a normal person would # up fillings as hard as Romney has, they would already be in jail.

Justice for all, except for those who write the checks.

Neither contender in this race should be allowed to run IMO.

Romney only reluctantly released 1 year.
I remember when he released it. Everyone is asking that he release others, just like his father did. He has a lot of investments to disclose as he is running for POTUS.
