War in August? US sends fourth aircraft carrier and dozens of underwater drones towards Iran

rt.com

The US Navy has unexpectedly dispatched a fourth aircraft carrier to the Persian Gulf, along with a fleet of underwater drones in what is being considered just the latest move in a series of escalations leading towards a potential war with Iran.

The deployment of dozens of small, unmanned submarine-like watercraft was confirmed by the Los Angeles Times this week, which cites military officials speaking on condition of anonymity.

The United States has already sent three massive aircraft carriers to the Persian Gulf, including the USS Enterprise, the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower and the USS Abraham Lincoln, and will now add the USS John C Stennis to that fleet by August.

Iran's threat to close the Straits of Hormuz will come a cropper what with such a massive US Naval force deployed to thwart such attempts. It would be interesting to see what would happen in August.

As of 7/11 Eisenhower was in the Med and Stennis was off the coast of California.

The only confirmation I can find for this story is DEBKA file.

I like RT most of the time, but maybe they jumped the nuke on this. Is there any reliable confirmation?

So they'll be waiting for after the Olympics, I take it.

And if USA doesn't win any gold ... they'll blame it on the stress they hold coz of the Iran situation and then attack Iran for it.

So, predictions are all over the place about the Olympics, so if anything is left after that then the war will happen?

Turkey made moves to purchase a years worth of Oil from Iran in GOLD.

This sets the stage for US intervention. Once other countries see that gold is devalued, and a cheaper alternative to the over inflated american dollar they will also purchase oil in gold. Imagine the damage if a huge country like Russia, or China, India, purchases a years oil in gold? Without intervention it would usher in the global realization the US dollar has been highjacked, and there should be a gold standard approach again.

Im not condoning US involvement, but it seems thats what will happen. Olympics are just around the corner. Something will happen, Iran will take the blame and there we go.. WW3.

This is all about the US remaining the reserve currency, any challengers to this will be squished.. Except now the rest of the world is just about sick of us manipulating, and lying, and corrupting the system, and we have no genuine friends left on the block. Our money is about to be worth nothing.

Keep in mind the federal reserve has $0.00 gold. If there was a shift to a gold based economy, we would need money to purchase said gold, just to buy in.

Tick tock

I was just about to put up a story from the JPOST about the MI6 chief calling an Iran strike by 2014.

Well, since this carrier story comes from the Pentagon's task master it must be true.

If they are calling for an air strike on Iran on 2014 if we are alive by 2012, then that could mean they know that the rebels in Syria will fall? because from what i read if the uprising that they have created succeeds in Syria an Air Strike wont happen.

But another green revolution would occur in Iran however if the plans fails in Syria then an Air strike is likely.

Are you aware that the story that you said confirms this thread has little to do with this thread? There is nothing in the JPOST story about submersible drones. It is about drills in the MED. And it says nothing about Stennis. We already know that Eisenhower is in the Med.

It is probably just co-incidence but the Carriers involved are all the ones with the "old" names. Perhaps they don't want to risk the GWB getting it's backside blown off.

The 'underwater drones' are to be used for minesweeping operations if Iran mines the Strait of Hormuz, as they have threatening to do again.
As I understand from the LA Times article, they are not really drones. They are remotely operated submersibles connected to the operator by a fiber optic link. The operator has a real time video feed, so they can see what they are doing. The submersible is a 'kamakaze' type of unit, meaning that if a mine is located, it detonates near the mine, destrying itself and the mine.

It goes both ways...!

A preemptive strike is a military raid with a limited military objective which falls short of the objective of the initiation of all-out war. A preemptive war is similar to a preemptive strike, in that both are military strategies, involving an attack on an opponent suddenly when they are not prepared for an aggressive action.

The US may have $0 in gold, but we have alot of gold still in the ground.

Many western US gold mines are located on federal public land, on which the mining companies pay no royalties to the US government. Gold mines operate under the General Mining Act of 1872, which permits mineral mining on public land without payment of royalties. Fighting reforms to have the gold mining industry pay royalties, the local community commission in Elko County, Nevada said that royalties would force mining companies to cut jobs and move elsewhere.

Nationalize these and viola! Problem solved.

articles.latimes.com...

WASHINGTON — The Navy is rushing tiny underwater drones to the Persian Gulf to help find and destroy sea mines as part of an American military buildup aimed at stopping Iran from closing the strategic Strait of Hormuz in the event of a crisis, U.S. officials said. Only 88 pounds and 4 feet long, the unmanned, remotely guided submersibles carry a TV camera, homing sonar and an explosive charge for what amounts to a kamikaze mission: When it detects a mine, the undersea craft obliterates itself as well as the mine.
not to sensationalist not exactly a fan of rt but yes we are sending in underwater drones and said drones exist

www.naval-technology.com... called the sea fox and they are kamikazi drones in that they crash into the mines and thats how they work

They are just "submersables" but if drone is the "hot" word right now because of the media then so be it. I will be a sheep too.
