I noticed something that bothers me deeply and it usually starts with family, say i just read about libya and how their way of life was before the american un invasion you know 0.14cents a litre for gas 50k to buy a house 0%^ interest on bank loans free schooling etc etc, and I start to talk about how we in western world are compliant slaves and all people can say to me is your on the internet to much reading non sense, then I start to explain how our way of life is shrouded and we live in false pretense and deciept I explain about rockafella and the Rothchilds JP morgan and the IMF but no one cares to listen they would rather redicule me for the knowledge i have learned no one ever has anything intellectual to say EVER. WHAT the F is wrong with people why does everyone act so compliant? I really dont understand I really dont?
It makes me wanna move to the wilderness and live like paul bunyan. I am so fed up with western society all people do here is work (like slaves may i add) go home consume and obey and they are happy until someone like me comes along with my facts and then they get defensive aggressive and their energy turns to # and makes me feel belittled, why is it this way and what can i do to make them listen with open ears?

negativity only stems from Fear.

people are in fear, just what the government wants.

if people could only see the triviality of fear and start to live with empathy and love for themselves and ALL other "humans being"...then the world would be a much different place.

but until then...they will project their fears into the outside world through negativity, anger, spite, and pettiness.

I understand exactly how you feel and I feel the same way. I really don't know how to convince people to wake up when they appear to be so blind to the truth, but I never give up trying. I will always try to interject into conversations with a bit of true knowledge here and there, often making smart jokes. Or try telling someone that if they continue to do something then the result will end up being.... whatever it is and then maybe when it happens they will finally realise. Of course it doesn't work on everyone, but when it comes to my family and friends I just don't give up ever. Sometimes it gets me down and I have to take a break and sometimes I cop the same ridicule that you do so I back off for a bit. Then I get straight back to my search for truth again.

Don't let that kind of thing get you down.

Life is each our own journey. Other people live the way the live and don't raise their heads to look around, that's their problem, not yours. You are free to make your own decisions on how you want to live, be glad of that. If some people don't want to hear your thoughts on the world you live in then leave them alone, it's up to each of us to choose our path, you cannot force people to see reality as you do, and it's not fair either. Plenty of people are happy and live good lives their own way, be one of them.

Yes, there are a great many things wrong with the world, but there are a lot of good folks out there too, there are a lot of wise and compassionate people striving to live better lives, to me the real change begins with your own self, to become a person of true worth and value, to live a life free of fear. With honest and sincere respect for others you will see that some people are less fortunate than you, not in a material sense but in a state of mentally cloistered ignorance, they live worthless existences filling their lives with wanton materialism, have pity on them if anything.

For me, a simple rule of thumb: don't try help somebody that doesn't want your help. And: 'the paths to evil are paved with good intentions'. It might sound clichéd but for me it explains a great many things that people do wrong when they perceive that they are more knowledgeable than others, yes you may be more informed about certain subjects but does that give you the right to try to alter another's perspective without their consent? IMO the answer is no.

I 1000% agree, the people in the West, namely the USA, are like bees. For most of us, we just buzz about our day doing mind-numbing tasks for no real reward. no real value. Everything now a days HAS TO DEAL WITH MONEY and people believe every, steamy, rancid piece of fecal matter that falls out of the new reporters mouths to be the final and most accurate truth. I was watching Blood the last Vampire with my brother last night and the second episode's, I believe, plot made me start thinking. The plot is that a Chiropteran, pretty much a vampire, it means hand-wing in Greek, has been murdering people and draining them of blood and then disappearing with out a trace. Long story short, the creature gets killed, military finds it and the news the next day paints the story that a U.S. soldier went crazy and has been the reason for all the killings. The MSM of the anime made it look so d*&m convincing that I thought, " I wonder if any news reports like that have ever been made"?

The bottom-line is that people (unknowingly) chose to do so. Next time you are driving or in a car pay attention to how people drive – this is a window into their personality. Many do not realize why they are running late, therefore: speeding, cutting people off, running red lights etc., because they made poor decisions leading up to the journey. We do not HAVE to do anything, we CHOSE too. People refuse to realize this very simple fact. Hence, why so many feel as they are victims and lack responsibility/accountability for their actions.

Hey now folks I am one of the most negative mother %$#@^ on earth but thats because my eyes are open. I agree with you all that most folks are sheeple. But we need to realize that it's hard to see through the BS, hell were just gifted or cursed however you want to look at it. Just take care of yourself, don't hurt the sheep and teach them if you can. Any of you wanabe mountain men or ladies should move to the PNW. If 12/21 don't pan out this area may be an interesting place to be. However hard work and sacrifice may be involved so no Occupy people will be needed.

I was writing an article on compliant people and found your post when Googling "why are people compliant?" Your question is especially relevant, and I think that everyone who ever makes an honest attempt to "change the world," bumps up against this very fact - people in the US are indifferent to the political powers that be who have control over their lives. What seems like a very simple, rather straightforward question is in reality a very complicated subject that must be unpacked before we can make sense out of it.

Why are people compliant? The short answer is they are trained to be that way. The next question, Who is responsible for this state of affairs? Again, the short answer is everybody. From a social psychology perspective, we must be compliant in order to survive. First as a child, and then as an adult. Have you ever thought, What happens to people who are not compliant? The short answer for that one is, they usually end up in jail or in some form of social ostracism. Think of compliance as a continuum, on one end you have the people who are wonderfully compliant souls who never once in their lives even thought about doing something out of line. On the other extreme, you have people who can't cooperate with anyone, let alone comply with all the tedious rules and laws that govern our society. Of course, everyone else falls in the middle of that continuum.

As for the second question, who is responsible for this? Our parents to begin with and then we ourselves as we progress. Being compliant is, in the long run, better for us than not being compliant. Here is where things get sticky. The fact that most everyone walking the streets today is compliant is not lost on the people who run the country - and the world. In fact, it is a fact that they very much rely on.

Everyone who makes an honest attempt to change the world bumps up against this feature of humanity and of Americans in specific. The mechanisms of compliance are begun under your parents' direction, and then the state assumes a role afterwards. Public school. Do you remember hearing in history class about the Progressive Movement active in this country from about 1890 to 1920? No? You didn't hear about that one. Because it is not in the interest of the powers that be to have you knowing too much about that. What did they tell you about the movements of the 1960s. Bunch of dirty hippies rolling in mud at Woodstock and ingesting every illicit substance they can get their hands on? That about covers it. Just recently, are beloved POTUS made a visit to South Africa and was photographed in some holding building where slaves where shipped out of Africa. He said he wanted his daughters to know what a great guy Mandela was for standing up to the lousy South African racists. Never mind that he himself has presided over the largest organized intrusion into the privacy of the American people - which was all perfectly legal by the way, forgetting to mention the new secret laws put into place allowing all the unconstitutional behavior. But hey, at least we don't sell human beings on the open market anymore. (At least not yet, anyway.)

Anyone trying to discuss these things with fellow citizens is usually met with a energetic ho-hum. Not only do they not care, it seems beyond their capacity to be persuaded to care. What better citizen could you want filling your country than people who honestly and forthrightly don't care. They just don't care. Can't be persuaded to think otherwise and more than happy to give you one of those knowing looks reserved for someone who spends too much time on the internet reading - as you say, non sense.

They've got an advertisement for Navy recruitment, showing an aircraft carrier looking down on it from above as the carrier steams past the stationary camera and out of view. The tag line: The US Navy. A force for good in the world.

People are impervious to being made aware of their situation. They are more than happy to go on about their business not paying attention to any of it. Only when it is too late - in our case it will be much too late - do they realize that they've been duped. By that time, it's too late to do anything about it.

Why are people so compliant? They're taught to be that way. How do you convince them otherwise? For most people, you can't. But the good news is - once people become aware of it and start thinking about it, then they walk around looking for just one other person who shares their perception of reality.

Best we can do is try to find them.
