There is no such thing as a UFO expert....

Kind of hard to tell who the "experts" are but as far as ufologist go, I would say that Bill Birnes sticks out for me. Also his counter-part Pat Uskert.

Pretty much just Stanton Freidman. Georgio Tsloukas is a nut. Bob Lazar is a liar.

There are so many that claim to experts. I get the impression that most of the "experts" are full of it.

There are NO out in the open "experts".

The true "experts" are working for the government.....behind closed doors!

When you hear that phrase, which names are in your head?

Karl 12 , Isaackoi , kandinsky and the myriad of other unsung researchers around the world who do it for the love of the subject and not for profit , for me they are the real experts .

Don't laugh but Erich von Däniken. Why? Well his book Chariots of the Gods? Was my first exposure to UFO's and what not. I was about 8 when I read it. The copy I have is all old and falling apart but hey you have to start somewhere!!

Georgio? Really? Wow...you must be young. I love the guy, but he's far from an expert IMO.

The first name that comes to mind is Philip corso.....

Wow, no wonder. This thread speaks volumes.

J. Allen Hynek, James E. McDonald, Jacques Vallee. Start with the three J's. These guys actually spent a lot of time investigating UFO reports first-hand.

Then you have people like Michael Swords who have done their homework on the history of the phenomenon six ways from Sunday and have done some great writing on the topic.

Not an exhaustive list, but it's a good start.

Agreed with Orkojoker. The people on OP's list are all loony crackpots.

My list:
J. Allen Hynek
Jacques Vallee
Richard Dolan (before A.D)
Nick Pope (up until 2010 when he started embracing the new-age BS).
