I had some friends visit me this weekend who are strong democrat supporters, which i believe is perfectly fine. After all, everyone is entitled to
their own political opinions.
We soon began discussing the ideas that the democratic party has for the most part. Healthcare, wellfare and etc. I told them i thought they were all
wonderful ideas, but how could the government possibly manage these correctly? They can't even manage mail without losing money every quarter for
goodness sakes. I went on to say that my opinion for this was because the government is both insanely corrupt and flat out stupid. They both
agreed.
They have just come back from living in Australia where the government is heavily involved in many things, and they claimed the government was
actually very effective. I told them even though i didn't believe in the government being involved so heavily, that i wished our government here was
as efficient as they claimed Australia's was. However, they did admit that people did abuse the programs regularly. I then told them it wouldn't
matter if the government wasn't involved anyway, people would still find a way to cheat something.
My last thought i gave them was that i believed systems like capitalism and socialism looked great on paper, but the variable of people will always
bring down any form of government. People are the problem. People, or the human race in general, is why any form of government will always fail. I
suppose it is our corrupt nature. They both agreed.
Just a friendly converstation with old friends. What are your thoughts?
