www.bbc.co.uk...

Seems like the off-duty police officer may have stepped into the line of fire to protect the other victim. The gun man has been named as Peter Reeve and is believed to be armed and dangerous,

Essex Police Chief Constable Jim Barker-McCardle said PC Ian Dibell, 41, was killed after he "deliberately intervened" in a "deadly situation".

Officers are hunting Peter Reeve, 64, over the shooting. They said he was dangerous and should not be approached.

I'm only posting this because it's quite a rare event to have a gun-man on the loose in the UK. As of posting he hasn't been caught.

Man I hope that dude doesn't go on a rampage............
People in the UK are used to madmen, just not ones with guns.
Hopefully he hands himself in. If gang members want to shoot each other up willingly then that's up to them but when the general public ends up getting involved......

Could be some face from the essex underworld.

Down that ways one of the hubs for organised crime, most organised crime over here is pretty proffesional, don't see it slapped over the papers any more either, apart from the odd strange death the talk away.

Its just an option, the Undergrounds do like bumping off coppers.

As if you got told to die!
haha, isn't that, like, worse than racism?

Nar I hear you, we all know black gang culture is one of the/if not *the* front runner for gun crime.

He wasn't being racist, he presumed that from statistics and his own perception.

Why every one so afraid of linking *culture* and crime?

Its not racist if its fact.

Just like the Pakistani gangs that run white sex abuse rings, and get away with it because people are afraid to profile them. Pakistanis are responsible for 80% of gangs rapes in the UK, (from a recent-ish channel four doc, look it up)... And target white women, girls, because its forbidden within their own community, and from upon us.

Only recently have the police started taking action, and publicly admitting there is clear corollation between there culture and the crimes.

Operative word I used there is *culture*, not colour, creed, breed, race, or nation... But *their* culture, how the collective group behave and think.

I don't think it should that hard to admit it, and say it out loud, we need to recognise it to fix it.

Clacton PC shooting: Peter Reeve's body found by church

Looks as if he dispatched himself rather than having the boys in blue do it.

No sad loss.

Reading between the lines, it sounds like the man was at the end of his tether, he'd probably had a breakdown. There are a lot of people in the uk who are at breaking point, and it's happening to older people a lot. Very sad. The Officer's name is rather unfortunate though.(Sorry)
