Hi everybody, I often hear people say on ATS that government/military disinformation agents are on here, and that they post stuff to throw us off track. Does anybody have some examples of specific posts or threads that are widely suspected to be of this nature?

I am very curious about this possibility. If this is in any way true, would we ever be able to prove it? I posted this in the aliens section because this is my main section of interest, and I see this often here. Best wishes, Chris.

I think so.
There are too many blow off answers to many of the sightings of UFO's
Maybe they are not official but in their mind these dis-info agents
think they are helping or some how are, government agents.

I'm about positive the corporate world has their dis-info peeps all over
ATS. Especially in political forums. I bet the corps have the Gov's
easily beat in number if anyone is truly getting payed to sway opinion.
The government doesn't have the money to throw around ATS like casino owners do.

Love the Vandelay Industries user name..

Strongly doubtful, but possible. The government doesn't have the type of money lying around to pay professionals to troll forums across the web, and if they do, I'd bet it would be for more relevant conspiracies such as those involving politics and government. The government couldn't careless about UFO's because if there really is some type of cover-up, they know full well the subject is not taken seriously by the general public.

Then again, if you disagree with some of the more irrational members on here and either request evidence for extraordinary claims or refute their arguments, you are labeled a "paid shill".

www.wired.com...

i would be absolutely shocked if there wasnt some version of this in the united states
even more so if wealthy companies didnt use online forums to their advantage in such a way
(and ats has fairly large and busy forums covering a wide range of topics that have a large impact on views of certain legislation, products, the government as a whole etc.)

No, there aren't.

Many fall under the knee-jerk reaction that anyone who disagrees has an agenda.

*At least that's what I was paid to post!

No, I don't believe there are "shills" around these forums. I think there are people posting their rational explanations to most issues and being struck down by those madly in belief of whatever issues. Then of course their paranoia and dislike of the thought of being wrong takes over and so people are accused of spreading disinformation and being paid for it just because of another's insecurities.

I don't think any of us can really offer proof. I will say, though, that I find it very offputting--not to say suspicious--everytime someone starts a thread about how our Consitutional rights are being trampled, and you always have some.... character... or characters demanding: "Show me proof of any right you've lost! Just one! Point me to anything, anything, that proves you have lost any of your Constitutional rights!"

It's definitely the sort of thing, imo, that makes the less bold among us seek elsewhere for something a little less threatening to read....

That is interesting. I always figured that that kind of stuff must be going on. You go to read reviews on a product, they are all glowing....hmmmm.

A few a here to keep the sheeple in line. Most of them are just brainwashed sheeple on autopilot. Most shills are not aware that they are shilling, which makes them dupes.

What would be the point? ATS is big, but I doubt any decision makers log in to see which way their opinions may sway.

I agree. I think all of us humans don't really know the broader, perhaps even sinister influences that define our beliefs.

There have been posts like this before. I think there probably are paid shills on here.

There have been threads written by supposed shills 'coming clean' and admitting that they are paid to disrail threads etc. Just check the search function. Whether they are to be believed or not though...
