The stereotype of British people is funny! Everyone I've asked seems to think all brits are posh, stuck up rich kiddies. The stuck up part may be correct for a lot of people but the posh, rich, docile jig is a load of tosh.

Most people I know can't even find a job. Many have had to resort to crime in order to make ends meet. The youth for the most part are completely dysfunctional nothing like what they are portrayed as which is often Mummies boys and daddies girls. Our country is in a state at the moment.

Youth are running around stabbing and shooting each other. Beating the living daylights out of each other. Hell you go out on the town drinking in almost any town or city and there are fights left right and centre. Grown men beating the living hell out of each other usually over a girl.

Young girls are getting pregnant left right and centre. Often in the knowledge that they won't have to work and will get everything paid for them. Kids are running around selling crack to adults, adults are running around raping little children and everywhere you look you can find depravity. If you look in the deprived areas (Like where I live) it is truly disgusting the behaviour, prospects and attitude of the youth. And you know what? I don't blame them.

I remember a few years ago at school I was promised that as long as I worked hard I could do whatever I want as a career, I could do what I loved and make a comfortable living from it. What a load of tosh. I can't even get a job in a supermarket or Mcdonalds.

Yeah.. we have bad teeth. That's about the only stereotype that holds at least some truth. We are not all mugs like Hugh Grant and everything is not fine and dandy on our little island.

It is turning to #. Kids in this country have almost no hope in the system they were born into. You get out of school, realise capitalism has #ed you and then you start selling drugs or stealing or being trapped in the social benefits system. Believe it or not a lot of us DON'T WANT TO BE HANDED £200 A MONTH FOR NOTHING FOR THE REST OF OUR LIVES. Some of us WANT TO WORK.

I fear for the next 10 years. Protests and riots are going to kick off big time over the next couple of years. And if Cameron gets another term as prime minister he is going to # the youth over and over again until he gets stabbed by some crack eyed 14 year old.

Welcome to the United Kingdom. The most divided nation in the world. Please don't hurt the swans.
/Rant over

Thats the problem with the UK now, we've gone back to the days of the 1920's, where you have to inherit (sp) land and wealth from someone to even have a chance, if you can't inherit anything, then you will forever be stuck in the working class.

I truely belive that this country will see a revolt by the end of the decade. Any year now to be honest, and this isn't just hope, after the last years riots (i know alot was opputunism) it's obvious that the authorities can not control the public, so they cut more police (wise choice there, lol) and people know this, people know that they can not handle rioting again like they did last year.

There does seem to be an atmosphere around the UK at the moment that something will happen, not if, but when. Everyone is starting to think that people will revolt at some point, we all know that it will happen, and we know that it could be anytime.

I don't see the teeth stereotype. Kids braces and teeth healthcare are on the NHS so there's no need for bad teeth, I only had to pay if I lost something, and yes our great nation isn't that great anymore.

while i do agree with a lot of your points i dont think its anywhere near as bad as you make out. yes there is a lot of crime, but seeing fights left, right and centre as you say. nah.

there is a lot of problems with class a drugs at the moment but i think these legal highs are even worse, its always deaths from them you see in the paper, never "real" drugs.

the point that irks me most from your op is people claiming benefits! really grinds my gears! there are a lot of people who need benefits having them taken off them due to the government clamping down on so called benefit fraudsters, then on the other hand you have people refusing to work cause they can get £100 a week for doing sweet FA. you can see there point though, why work 40 hours a week for £200 when you can do nothing for £100! absolutely shocking! radical shakeup needed and cameron aint the man, too busy lining his buddies pockets with tax reliefs the carrot!

if the way things are going in england are getting to much for you, come up here!

Well, talk about exageration!!!!
Just because its like that where you live does not mean we're all like that!!

This country is the way it is because thats how TPTB want it. Even the youth who fight each other our doing just what TPTB want them to do.
Everything is the way THEY WANT IT TO BE!!

And those youth who fight each other would stop overnight if that most viscious of all drugs were to be removed, you know the one, they call it ALCOHOL.
ALCOHOL AND TELEVISION ARE POISONING THE COUNTRY.

Dont blame the people, blame the scum who set it up!!

I don't blame the people. I blame the system that spawned these people. Especially so with the kids who know no better. And I agree, Alcohol and Television are tearing this country apart.

I'm not saying all of England is like this but you'll be surprised at how much of the youth are like this. A scary, scary amount. All having kids and then teaching their kids their bad habits if even teaching them at all.

We have a ticking time bomb on our hands.

Yep UK today is in a state of disarray

The rich getting richer and screwing the poor,
revolution most likely but a desperate cure.
No direction, no hope, the kids ain't alright,
many going hungry where purse strings are tight.

No fat cat bought to justice, no banker arrested,
they know the system, corruption goes untested.
No community spirit, the streets an avenue for crime,
inner city warfare, do not cross their line

But what comes round goes round, so they say,
so maybe the UK will bounce back one day,
to an age where corruption and corporate greed
are considered a crime, heinous indeed.

AAaaah we can dream, but man we do scream,
reduced to where we are now, you know what I mean !
Brittania that ruled the ocean waves,
a new army she's created of millenium slaves

The funny thing is that i live in a pretty crappy estate and guess what the kids are generally very nice kids for the simple reason if they aint they'll get into an accident
so they learn that causing trouble only causes them more pain quite early on so we have tough parents giving some tough love and it works to keep the crap down around here

Hmm i hear these rants all the time,

I've sacked 5 guys in the past month because they are absolutely unemployable, unreliable, lazy, i could go on and on here for a very long time, the kids of today are utter wasters with no get up & go in them at all, i know guys who are 60 years old who could out perform most 18-25year olds at work today, thank god for the polish and other ethnic workers in this country who actually know what it is like to have nothing or work for peanuts and work hard because they simply cannot afford to lose there jobs, we have a MASSIVE problem with our youth in this country the main problem being is they're all bone idle lazy and just want to play video games all day and do copious amounts of drink & drugs at night, the only reason most of them want a job is just to pay for much of the same, and in between going from job to job to job take out thousands of £ worth of loans that they know they cannot pay back to carry on there irresponsible ways

I'm sick of hearing kids moan about not being able to find work and i see it all the time on social networking sites, you just need to realise jobs don't find you, you need to get up of your arses and find them, the quicker these kids realise this the better for everybody who has to put up with listening to there "i'm hard done by" story's

Sorry if this is harsh but from what ive seen in the past couple of years these sorts of people only have themselves to blame

Yep, this country is screwed, my husband does manual lifting work and had to have a groin hernia fixed at the back end of last year, now the hernia has come back and he can't work until its fixed, he's been to the docs 3 times over the last 6 weeks to try and find out when his referral letter to a specialist will come through only to finally be told last week that he hasn't even been referred and he isn't going to be either, wtf? he's now on statutory sick pay as the company we work for recently changed our sick pay policy to a rolling year rather than jan to dec like it originally was,

oh, and last month my boss forgot to put his sick note in so he didn't even get full statutory sick pay (this is a boss who has told us he doesn't have to work and that his job is just a game to him, he was previously sacked from another branch within our company for stealing)

the doctor said he needs to get a job that doesn't involve lifting, and that would be fine, but there aren't any jobs that will pay the bills, and regardless of whether he is lifting things or not he is still in severe pain (his description is that it feels like he keeps being kicked in the balls) sorry for being so blunt! and who is going to employ someone that is more than likely going to be off work ill with a hernia? no one

this countries government are slowly screwing us all over, bit by bit, if me and my hubby didn't have to pay the approx 10 grand a year in tax and national insurance we would be able to afford to have his op privately but unfortunately it doesn't work that way,

this country is such a mess,

sorry for the rant but i need to get this off my chest

Ok, my bad, just hate seeing the youth blamed when all they are doing is reacting the way they've been programmed to.

I know young people in my town who are hard workers (when given the chance) but are not given the chance. They look meticulously for jobs but to no avail. They get qualification after qualification after qualification to no avail. They do countless hours free work experience to no avail. They are on the job hunt every day to no avail.

Many of these people have no means of moving somewhere else in the country.

Yeah. They are lazy. Bone idle.

Here's ome of the reasons I encourage my kids to leave the UK at the earliest oportunity Britain is imploding if you can't afford a home with an electric fence around it get the hell out. Call me crazy but I am convinced that there is an intent to set the public against each other more divisions seem to be appearing every day.

They need to be innovative, I sat myself down and learned how to code websites and I now have businesses coming to me to build them websites, whilst I am also doing my degree. All those people who work hard at looking for jobs need to realize the potential of the internet, I bet most of them at the very least have internet so what is to stop them from learning a free service like WordPress and starting there own business. My brothers complain about the lack of jobs, they did not give up what I did in order learn and better myself and they will be stuck in that perpetual circle of looking for others to give them work.

the government even started a scheme were people were found jobs for 8 weeks so they could get experience, with a possibility at the end of it that the company may even take them on, the government even paid companies to take these people on for 8 weeks, whilst the employee still only got the standard benefit allowance (which i think is about 50 pounds).
and guess what, most of the companies involved never intended actually employing the person at the end of the 8 weeks, they just got another person in on work experience and again the company got a pay out for setting them on.
so who benefits there? the companies who are getting paid to take on a worker who they don't even have to pay, then they dispose of them after 8 weeks and start again, how is this in any way helping people get back into work? if the work is there why are companies not prepared to actually pay them for the work. i'd like to point out that i work for a corporation and they have done the above in pretty much all 1200 of our branches, and now whenever they take on a member of staff its only ever on a temporary contract with no holidays and they can be let go at any time, its a complete shambles, the whole system!
