With everything said. Facilitating a positive change starts within you. Everything is connected. For example with me, this past week I deleted my facebook account. Since then Ive had a constant feeling of being in a great mood. Despite having nasty customers at my job I explain to everyone all options they have. I do not let their negativity get to me & just help everyone in the best possible way I can. I distinguish people's personal agendas from what they actually came to do. Im starting to get all the help I need for situations & my days are going perfect. So by just spreading a good mood Ive witnessed I am actually helping others, & remember one day at a time.
Democratising Global Governance:
The Challenges of the World Social Forum
by
Francesca Beausang
ABSTRACT
This paper sums up the debate that took place during the two round tables organized by UNESCO within the first World Social Forum in Porto Alegre (25/30 January 2001). It starts with a discussion of national processes, by examining democracy and then governance at the national level. It first states a case for a "joint" governance based on a combination of stakeholder theory, which is derived from corporate governance, and of UNESCO's priorities in the field of governance. As an example, the paper investigates how governance can deviate from democracy in the East Asian model. Subsequently, the global dimension of the debate on democracy and governance is examined, first by identification of the characteristics and agents of democracy in the global setting, and then by allusion to the difficulties of transposing governance to the global level.

This exactly is what is happening. Our own government is becoming that which we swore to protect others from. A scary prospect and reality to face which is why at the end of the day, many Americans choose to turn a blind eye to reality because the truth is far outside there comfort zone while they are still etching out a living and enjoying the small pleasures that are designed to distract from the nightmare of our true situation.

Excellent thread, couldnt of said it better. The US is in alot of trouble. I remember when i was young, i it was where i wanted to live when i grew up. Now its the last place i want to be. Heres a well deserved 100th flag
O thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved home and the war's desolation.
Blest with vict'ry and peace, may the Heav'n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust."
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!
Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses, yearning to breath free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore,
Send these, the homeless, tempest tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door.

And this one that is now treated with utter contempt:
Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses, yearning to breath free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore,
Send these, the homeless, tempest tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door.
Lady Liberty was a fine and respected lady, once upon a time.
