Many people label Ron Paul supporters as fringe crazies, that they want to over throw the government, leave the country militarily weak, undefended and get high on drugs.
I am always saying it is not about Ron Paul but the movement. It is a way of thinking, it is not about a new way of thinking, but old way that was used when our country was founded. Where the people control their fate and their country . Where freedom, liberty and equal justice for all reign not the government.
Ron Paul is not the movement, but a part of it.He is a man that believes in the movement as do many people. His voting record over decades supports his beliefs.

But what looms are far larger questions about whether an America fed up with government bans and government bailouts – with government, period – is seeing a return to its libertarian roots.

Skousen has a simple analogy for all of this: “If you restrict a teenager, they rebel. I think that’s what people are feeling…”

Many may choose not to click on the link to read it.
So lets look at what many claim are the fringe element.

Cindy Lake, the acting chair of the Clark County Republican Party and a delegate to this summer’s Republican National Convention. A self-described “libertarian Republican constitutional conservative,” Lake became a Paul convert in 2007 after she heard him advocate for something she passionately supports: the freedom to buy raw milk.

Megan Heryet, celebrating her GOP primary victory in a state Assembly race. Heryet, a real estate agent, substitute teacher and mom, is hardly a Paul fanatic. But she did back him in Nevada’s caucuses earlier this year, primarily because she is a big proponent of being free to make decisions such as choosing to give birth to her second child at home instead of a hospital. “It’s about being left alone,” she said.

Bunce brothers, Richard and Carl, who marshaled a four-year “Paulist” takeover of the Nevada Republican Party. The tax system is their biggest irritation. “This is the land of the free,” said Carl. “How free are we when we’ve got a government that can choose how much money we keep in our paycheck?”

These people are the fringe crazies ?
Are they asking too much from their government ?
I guess asking for liberty and freedom are too much to ask for if enough people DON'T CARE !

I'm with you man.

I just wonder if the fluoride in the water has so pacified my brethren to the point of nullification of their sense of liberty.

Paul has been the go-to guy for me for that time. Not just as Pres but also an idea man.

He said it himself,

"An idea who's time has come cannot be stopped."

Many americans are still sucked into the left, right paridigm and will vote for who they believe is the lesser of two evils.
Even more americans, who are over whelmed with APATHY will not vote at all, and these are the ones who really promote the the illusion of the left and right paridigm, by letting it continue.
There is a movement coming through, get on board or get out of the way, all our fates depend on it so get on board.
Because this time it's all or nothing. People don't deserve liberty and freedom if they can't even stand up for it.
We will reap what we sow, because apathy leads to bondage.

Yesterday in my health food store, a guy walked inwith a ron paul revo shirt..there are quite a few.....I gave him thumbs up,,I was proud of him,,not because he is a Ron Paul fan but because that means he sees through the BS and is not a young sheep guy. He doesnt care that idiots look at that shirt and say "jeez, he cant even win a state".they dont get it.its a life philosophy and one most of us had already, we just needed a voice,,and the voice we got was treated like a virus.

After all it is america we all still have freedom of choice ????
And to those who choose not to stand up for liberty and freedom or bother to vote that is your choice as is your fate
And few will morn you if you choose to concede defeat and surrender and die without even fighting, while many others will not roll over so easily.

"This is the most libertarian generation that’s ever existed"

I would of thought the generation of the 1770's would disagree, have to say I do also. All you have now is rhetoric, back then you had had actions, people who stood up and fought, no you just have arm chair warriors, or the real term, whiners

The only thing more full of BS in this thread than the title is Ron Paul. He has been a COMPLETE failure as a politician. He made all of his supporters look like morons (not like that was hard) and yet everyone on this site is still in love with the dottering old coot. I think Ronald McDonald may be the least effectual politician in history. You keep pretending he spurred some nonsense movement. All he really did was help the real people identify nutjobs.

Really ?
The U.S. population in the 1770's was 2,148,100 and today the population is over 300.000.000.
In the early 1770's there were 13 colonies today we have 50 states.
So you think there are less than 2 million people in the U.S. that want real liberty and freedom ?
Don't try to down play the facts, the truth is more people from across the whole country are joining the Liberty movement. It is not a fringe movement and the people are not crazy fanatics and they have not given up on the real America.
I think the U.S. government needs to find a new flag, because the American flag belongs to the people, the ones who fought and died and for those who continue the fight for Liberty and Freedom for all Americans.

Good message, it's just that unfortunately you posted it on a forum full of people who are so hard headed they would shun the very idea that is supposed to unite them... and also trolls.

To these people I say: "If you don't have anything good to say, shut up."

Im not trolling and if you had read my entire post you would have noted that I commented on your so called movement. Nothing has changed. If anything Ronnie basically crapped up the chances of independant candidates for years to come with his idiot fanbase and ideas.

Edit for OP gender.

What utter nonsense. Someone that disagrees with you is not automatically trolling. People are free to politely point out negative things about awful politicians on this site. Even people that dont fall for the cult lines.

You aren't politely pointing out anything, your spewing the same insulting banter you've done on every Ron Paul and liberty thread on this website.

AKA trolling. I mean look at this garbage:

Im sorry if your feelings were hurt. Thanks for the ego boost. Its good to know you remember me and my musings. I think some day soon my glorious words of truth will sink in and you will realize Ronaldo never had any intention of being the president, and every intention of milking conspiracy nuts of there obviously meager resources to propel his sons eventual run at the white house.

What? You're buttering your own behind now.

Glad I could help out with your ego. I might suggest not using the internet to facilitate it once in a while, lol. Bye troll.

A difference of opinion is not trolling. Im not trying to derail this thread or get into flame wars. Im just delivering the truth to the OP. Ronald McDonald is a bad man. This notion that hes spurred some revolution movement is nonsense and lies spewed out to make the cult feel a little less foolish. Like they actually accomplished something. At the end of the day Ron Paul milked the poor and ignorant for there beer money then gave up. Actually I dont think he gave upm I dont think he ever intended to do anything but fleece his fanbase. Im on the Ronnie supporters side. I feel for them. They were tricked.

And what does the population count matter? If anything it proves my point even more, there was 2.5 million then, they stood up and fought, there are 300 million now who do nothing, therefore the people then were more libertarian than now, they actually cared enough to do something, not just pay a subscription to join a BS group that does nothing.

I think the U.S. government needs to find a new flag, because the American flag belongs to the people, the ones who fought and died and for those who continue the fight for Liberty and Freedom for all Americans.

And just who is fighting for liberty and freedom? Where are these magnificent battles? Ah that's right there are none, its all just BS and rhetoric

I disagree, you don't even know what libertarian means...

As is well known, anarchists use the terms “libertarian”, “libertarian socialist” and “libertarian communist” as equivalent to “anarchist” and, similarly, “libertarian socialism” or “libertarian communism” as an alternative for “anarchism.” This is perfectly understandable, as the anarchist goal is freedom, liberty, and the ending of all hierarchical and authoritarian institutions and social relations.

Unfortunately, in the United States the term “libertarian” has become, since the 1970s, associated with the right-wing, i.e., supporters of “free-market” capitalism. That defenders of the hierarchy associated with private property seek to associate the term “libertarian” for their authoritarian system is both unfortunate and somewhat unbelievable to any genuine libertarian. Equally unfortunately, thanks to the power of money and the relative small size of the anarchist movement in America, this appropriation of the term has become, to a large extent, the default meaning there. Somewhat ironically, this results in some right-wing “libertarians” complaining that we genuine libertarians have “stolen” their name in order to associate our socialist ideas with it!

150 years of Libertarian

What you call libertarian is nothing but more free-rein for authoritarian capitalism to exploit workers and consumers. True libertarianism is worker ownership, with no state system.

"Anarchism is stateless socialism", Michail Bakunin

Libertarianism was originally another term for Anarchism, and Anarchism is a form of Socialism. Socialists who were apposed to the political path of the Marxists and wanted direct action called themselves Anarchists.
