The announcement many have been waiting for,the start of our second Halloween Short Story Competition.

Can you write a spooky short story ?

Entries will be judged on how spooky they are, and how well written they are,and how good the story is.

The results will be announced on November 1st.

The winner will receive 5,000 ATS points,the runner up will get 3,000 ATS points, third place will get 1,500 ATS points, fourth 500 , and fifth 250.

Multiple entries are fine.

Add the prefix (HSSC2) to the start of the title to designate it as an entry.

All entries will be topped.

Even though I'm not a good writer I can't wait for this contest to start. I like scary stories.

Yep we did this last year and got some really good ones.It's a chance for anyone to write a short story.

Cool! I was waiting for the next contest because it was so much fun to write again last contest. Unfortinitely, I barely have the time to get on ATS lately let alone post anything, but perhaps by the end of the month.

Spooky, hu? I can do disturbing and twisted so that will have to do.

I got mine in. Its my first attempt at horror. I came up with the idea in the shower one night, but the orgianl was more graphic and had a differnt ending and did not involved the same plot.

Holly Hanna !!! Is it that time already !!!!! I had a ball writting my story last year so I guess I'm gonna have to try it again this year.

Sweet...now I have motivation to finish my story....I assume that we can use exisiting stories - in my case, it's currently unfinished, so as long as I finish it before Halloween and post the link here it's all gravy right?

No need to make up a story just write about dealing with women.
Any story with that theme will terrorize any man 365 days of the year.

I am very impressed with everyone's entry... this will be a really good competition. I'll probably read them all again on All Hallow's Eve by candle light and give myself a good scare.

I've got a question and I hope some one can answer it.

When you say "short story" how short is it suppose to be? I don't want to write a novel or anything like that, just want to know if there is a word limit?

BTW, all the entries so far are "kicking!"To all!

There isn't a word limit but I've got a very short attention span so don't make it too long or I won't read it all.

Lots of good entries this year.

So I ran three story ideas past the girlfriend and I will try to submit two of them. One is my typical style (if anyone remembers my trilogy from the last contest) and the other is something completely different for me. Should be interesting.

The third idea she nixed because she thought that no one would get the twisted humor of a murder witnessed in the first person perspective of a wall clock. Some people just don't know funny...but then again she is dating me.
