Yes, he could be killed many ways. Polonium poisoning wouldn't have been considered in routine testing by the French military at the time. The French who undoubtably support Israel and quite like to cover up pathology samples as history as shown.

Yasser in his final years actually tried to get a peace deal done, attaining statehood for Palestine, recognising Israel as a state and for the future Palestine to lay down their arms against Israel. Sharon and his cronies wouldn't have a bar of it. Yasser got close to a deal, with the western powers approving... And considering the sympathy he was starting to garner in the eyes of westerners.... He had to be eliminated. Simple.

Cadaver of a human (pejorative), or carrion of an animal.

So Arafat was poisoned by someone he trusted.

It was no secret that Arafat was quietly stashing away of millions of dollars received for the Palestinian cause and the Palestinian Authority in his personal accounts in Swiss banks. Somebody may have resented this robbery of the Palestinian cause - or maybe just wanted to do similar stealing of his own. It was also no secret that Arafat had betrayed dozens of Palestinian operatives to the Israelis to ambush and kill; Arafat frequently bought an extension of his own life by telling the Israeli secret service (the Shin Bet and Mossad) when and where they could find one of his Palestinian rivals, or Palestinian critics, so the Israelis could assassinate this person. This was how Arafat saved his own life after his adherents had committed some terrorist act, or when some other Palestinian complained about Arafat's disappearing act done with the cult's money.

The allegation is in speech marks and clearly set out that it is not conclusive that he was poisoned. However, how else did he come into contact with this extremely dangerous substance?

Very possible. Should serve as a warning to Abbas and co that they need to serve the needs of their people or they could find themselves caught up in a similar situation.

Poisoning, as a cause of death, was strongly suspected at the time. If true the main suspects have to be Mossad/Shin Bet or rival factions within the Palestinian body politic such as Hamas.

So where did Hamas get polonium? Do you realise that you need weapons grade nuclear reactors to make polonium isotopes.

Where would Hamas get plotonium-210 from? They're military wing is simple and unsophisticated. They can barely produce missiles more threatening than bottle rockets, let alone radioactive substances. A more rational explanation is conceled within the article. It must be a 'state-backed intelligence agency'.

In this case I would most likely speculate it is Israel. Afte all they have proven how willing they are to use state sanctioned assasination, especially when it comes to bringing judgement day closer to Nazi war criminals and Palestinian 'terrorists'.
