Over the past 20 years NYC has turned into a police state. Ever since mayor Gulianni took office all the cops have turned into ball busters. 911 sealed the deal and they tightened the leash. By the time Bloomberg came in, any ounce of character NYC had was sucked out and I would rather live anywhere but here. How hard is it to get citizenship in Canada?

I think many would agree with you. For one of the most seemingly liberal cities on earth, the cops really only cater to the rich and their desires. Guilliani took credit for the decline in crime even though the stats later showed crime decreased proportionately across the country, without the heavy handed tactics. Now that Bloomberg acknowledges the "stop and frisk" laws and even say they are working you know the NYD is a force built upon false statistics.

On a side note, surprising more defenders of our freedoms are not jumping in on this. Blatant police abuse of power.

If they're filming arrests and so forth from a distance and not in their faces with cameras then there should be no problem. Hopefully that's what the did, meaning they have nothing on them and are going through these maneuvers to try and get them to stop.

America is very sue-happy, it should only be a matter of time before lawyers get involved. Can't believe they haven't already.

Thought anyone upset with this attack on our population may want a bump on this thread. Do you have to get a 4 year degree to become a professional agitator? What is the pay like?
