So, it is the trendy thing right now for Conservatives to makes statements about Obama and immigrant amnesty. I wanted to take this moment to point something out, something that conservatives NEVER want to speak about:

What president amnestied more illegals than any other in history? Thats right, conservative golden boy, Ronnie Reagan!

The law granted amnesty to nearly 3 million illegal immigrants, yet was largely considered unsuccessful because the strict sanctions on employers were stripped out of the bill for passage.

Not only did he amnesty them, he bowed down to corporations (big shocker there) and removed all corporate sanctions from the bill that amnestied them.

Thanks Ronnie!

We see what granting amnesty did, it brought in more illegals hoping for the next amnesty. It has cost us billions in free educations for their kids, medical, prison care, welfare benefits for anchor babies, cheap housing etc. Millions of citizens are unemployed while illegals hold jobs. When ICE raids a place of employment and deports the illegal workers, citizens quickly and easily take up those positions.

We have people coming here through the proper channels and it is an insult and slap in the face for illegals to shove their way to the head of the line.

Dont get me wrong, I am not okay with the amnesty. What I am saying, though, is that the argument that has been presented here hundreds of times-that is, that it is a democrat strategy, is completely false.

Good ol Ronnie sold us out long ago.

He did the exact opposite of what he should have done.

Forget about amnesty, enforce stricter regulations on illegal immigrant employers.

People want the government to focus on deporting these people. What they don't understand is that deportation is a slow, expensive process. The problem will never be solved that way.

We need to bite the bullet and admit that it's our fault the illegal immigrants come here. We hire them because we want cheap labor. Corporations don't want the illegal immigrants gone, and that's why nothing is being done to solve the problem.

You think it's bad now? Wait till Mitt pushes NAFTA thru with completely open borders for his corporate buddies that crave cheap labor. He may talk like a border controller but that's just rhetoric for the GOP faithful.
He is going to do the same thing Reagan did. Just wait....

Nobody wants to be the President who has to explain why food prices have shot up 10 times what they were because now they got rid of all the cheap labor. Its a catch 22, nobody wants to people here illegal and yet the are vital to our economy. Until machines can do the job for less this is they way things will be.
