During the test, the research connected nine bathroom tile-based batteries in parallel, of which one was mounted with a solar cell, which generates power from a white lab light. When the batteries were completely charged by the house current and solar panel, they were able to power an array of LEDs that illuminated the word ‘RICE’ for 6 h. Moreover, the batteries delivered a constant 2.4 V.

Great.. now you can paint your house to collect sunlight on the outside and paint it battery on the inside.

I'm reading it that this is a battery, not a solar collecting cell.
(edit: ahh your link did not work, you must be talking about some other paintable solar paint?)

Could be quite useful in the automotive industry painting the entire floor pan to create a massive battery for electric vehicles.

I don't believe the automotive industrie will halleluja yet. It's not realy good at collecting...

Still don't like painting though.
