Dear ATS,
This isn't an angry rant,
but seriously,
please quit with the video ads.
You know, the ones that make me regret
leaving my volume turned all the way up
from listening to the Mars Volta earlier.
I come to this website for information.
For knowledge,
not to be sold/shouted at about new cleaning supplies.
I like my current quiet cleaning supplies, thanks.
I know you guys need to pay the bills,
and if you need some help brainstorming some ideas
that don't involve incredibly annoying ads,
I'd love to help. (Seriously.)
Most of the people on ATS nowadays
already seem ticked off or stressed out about something,
do we have to give them one more reason?

Thank you for understanding.

Don't you love how they just start playing randomly?

I agree, get rid of that crap. It's really annoying.

Yeah those ads are pretty annoying, but I actually have not had a problem with them on ATS. Maybe I am lucky, or maybe one of my anti-virus/malware programs blocks them on this site. I would definitely be glad if the obnoxious ads disappeared from the net in general though.

When I'm using ATS on my iPhone, if I don't navigate from the home screen I'm redirected to a page that tells me I have won some Android device competition.

Again, I'm using an iPhone....

At one point I had 2 audio adds running at the same time... effective... lemme tell ya.
Especially annoying with earbuds for audio -.-

Firefox + NoScript + AdBlock Plus... I thought this was common sense.

yeah yeah adblock... we aren't idiots.
However, I'm pretty sure ad blocking software is against ATS T&C... so...

20b) Ad Blockers: As the Websites are provided as a free service, in part through the income of our advertising, you agree not to use "ad-blocking" software or similar built-in web browser options designed to obfuscate or block online advertising while using the Websites.

exactly
ats is one of my favorite sites and i would like to make sure it has enough revenue to continue running and even make the owner a little bit of profit but im a video ad or two away from blocking the ads
i usually have well over a dozen tabs open spread across multiple pages (i like to have references open and multitask) and i cant even begin to describe how annoying it is to have one of those ads start up and interrupt my thought process and i frantically try to find where it is to shut it up
honostly i would buy the F%*@ing product if it would stop the ads but it wont so please stop the ads (or risk losing revenue)

Using AdBlock is a violation of the T&C here at ATS.

I know this, because I created a very similar article, using the video ads that seem to have a mind of their own as the basis.

In that thread it was suggested to use adblock programs Then it was quickly pointed out, by another member, that such content blocking and suprressing programs are not legal at ATS.

I believe ATS still rewards those members that reach, and maintain, a certain level of contribution with reduced advertising content. I am not 100% sure, but I don't recall an alert that this feature of ATS membership had been revoked or suspended.

Besides, what the hell kind of nazi T and C says you must allow pop ups? Hey I know, stop counting your money and listen to those filling the bucket for you. You are losing views with this dumbass #, I for will leave and not come back if they try to tell me I have to liste to corp. Propoganda on a site dedicated to peeps talking about why we shouldn't have to listen to corp/political propoganda.
