I watched the Vice Presidential Debate and was very impressed with the way John Edwards handled himself.
According to CNN:
43% believe that Cheney won the debate
35% believe that Edwards won the debate
19% believe that the candidates tied
Now my issue with this is that Cheney has had at least 30 years in Washington. He is very experienced and he knows what he is talking about. I think
that John Edwards did a fantastic job during the debate and the fact that he even came close to being the winner of the debate is a win in itself.
You took someone who is used to being in debates, who you know knows what they are talking about, and you get a newcomer who kicked butt.

for Edwards.
Now another issue that confused me and that I had never heard before.
During the debate, Edwards states:
No state for the last 200 years has ever had to recognize another state's marriage.
I guess I just don't exactly know what this means. Does this mean that since my parents were married in New Jersey that the state of North Carolina
doesn't have to recognize their marriage? Any legal experts know anything about this, and where I can find proof or references to this statement?
