Russian technicians were involved in the taking down of the Turkish fighter jet by the Syrian military last week the Sunday Times reported on Sunday.

Sourcing Middle Eastern diplomatic sources the Times reported that the decision to down the Turkish jet was intended to signal a warning to NATO to stay out of the conflict raging in Syria for over a year.

Russia supplied Syria with advanced anti-aircraft missile systems three years ago. It is believed that Russian specialists trained the Syrian forces to use them. According to diplomats that spoke with the Sunday Times some Russian specialists are still stationed at the missile battery control centers.

“We would not be surprised if these Russian experts, if they didn’t push the button, at least were beside the Syrian officers who did it,” an Israeli air force source told the British paper.

This is getting even more nasty every day. There have been claims that Turkey is making the story up about Syria shooting down one of it's jets, and now this. Why do TPTB want WWIII so badly? That is what I don't get. I understand that some think it is an oppourtunity for them to enact a one world government, but why now? What is behind all of this? I know it has been speculated on ATS for years, but does anybody have any new theories with all of this new information considered?

In times of economic crisis, war is a gold mine. When we (the USA) have such a huge budget for our military, the only way to recoup those funds is to participate in or supply a war. The same goes for Russia. Selling weapons is a massive market that never seems to crash.

I do not think there is anything earth-shattering about this information.

Yes, the Russians have supplied anti-aircraft systems to Syria. Yes, they trained the Syrian military in their use (naturally, as the suppliers of the equipment). Quite likely, there are still Russian personnel on station in Syria to assist with on-going training, or maintenance of the equipment...maybe one or more of them happened to be around when the decision was made to down the Turkish F-4 jet.

I do not know of any information that this action was directed, or supported, by the Russians.

America has supplied military hardware to governments and organizations around the world. It doesn't mean that the U.S. is pulling the strings behind the scenes every time somebody decides to pull an American-made trigger.

I think US and NATO should not intervene about the the situation in Syrian, because it is their revolution and their business. What US and NATO must do is to resolve the financial crisis that we are facing now

Not as long as there are wars to be fought, no.

How about we shatter the weapons market and restore the normal one?

Nah, that wouldn't make sense.

You can believe it or not, but it is true I can assure you. WW3 is part of the long term plan to bring the world to the brink of exhaustion, it is about imposing a world government, one army, one police state.

For that to happen, they need to bring us to one more world war where mankind will give in and accept the loss of all nationality and religions, it will surrender to one world government as the only solution to prevent another world war.

You've got to appreciate that there are evil forces at work- people don't want war. I don't want war, you don't want war, Iraqi's don't want war, Russian don't want war, yet the world in the last 100 years has been at war non stop, the forces at work that keep us divided and hating each other are evil to the core, and the overall plan is to impose one world government/control.

People will mock this but ask youself, who wants war? Nobody. So why are we always at war? Because forces are constantly at work to divide us, to conquer us.

Like this is a surprise.Ofc the russians shot it down. And not russian "technicians" but russian troops abroad their ships in the syrian waters.

This is why Turkey is so pissed. And this is why Turkey won't leave this matter dead in the rice, like the Mavi Marmara one.

Good for Mother bear Russia taking care of her cubs.
What would the US do if someone attacked one of our allies?
The US needs to keep her nose out of other countries and help bail herself.
The ship is sinking.
