It is called magic, sometimes spelled with a "ck" to distinguish it from other forms of sleight-of-hand. Magic is the conscious attempt, through ritual, prayer, or ceremony, to will into being a desired change of state, whether physical, emotional, mental, or spiritual. Groups spanning the entire history of the human species have accepted, and practiced magic in one form or another. The power of "mind over matter;" "as above, so below"; or "love under will"; and other axioms represent your thoughts very well.

As for God... that God, the one everyone believes is omnipotent, omnipresent, and all-benevolent... yeah, there's a very good chance his paradoxical existence is a lie. After all, how could he be all-loving, and allow/create evil in the world. Or, be all-knowing and not have known where Adam and Eve were in the Garden? Or be all powerful, yet unable to assist warriors when facing iron chariots?

That doesn't mean there aren't forces, energies, or presence out there in the cosmos though. If you accept that an entire universe can fit inside your ., and enable you to manipulate your waking world... is it so far off to believe that incorporeal energies with consciousness may exist somewhere in the infinite expanse of the universe?

How condescending of you to say such things. Youth doesn't equal ignorant. The OP is quite smart to be researching this stuff. When you say "you will meet him later" do you mean your god? I'm curious. It sounds like anyone who searches is not right, and anyone who finds "God" is right. Is that what you mean?
edit on 1-7-2012 by Ellie Sagan because: punctuation

Yes.

Lets put it this way. Ask an astronomer, how big is the universe and what earth significance compare to it.
If the answer, 13B light years, just say "I know" and ask him again.
He will lost of words to explain or throw something like "its really really big" and earth is nothing.

Now if you cannot imagine the universe size, how do you imagine the creator ? You say hes smart to do research, but its much much more benefit if he try to understand and learn how to treat/love people better, preferably his/her parent.

The OP confidently write god have to much credit and in the post says something like "still not sure, need to search etc". Signs of impatient and attention seeking childish attempt IMHO. "Dad, you are wrong, it goes like this.., I think"

I have no tolerance toward people who do not believe in superior power. Its a very sad state of mind. Get a religion or belief please and start from there.

Your lack of faith is disturbing. Have some faith, its the last thing you wanna get hold when leaving this world.

p/s:I will stop subscribing to this topic, I dont want to bring myself to the level.

No need to say it—your intolerance permeates from your hateful words. But at least you admit to it so I must give you that. This sort of blind faith and fanaticism is what's disturbing. Your claims about what "you wanna hold when leaving this world" is based on nothing but the guesses of someone who is incapable of thinking for themselves. How can advice like that hold any value whatsoever?

No, because there is no such things as perfection.

Useless pointless comment. There sure is just you dont understand what that exactly means.

13. When we say that God is eternal, infinite, unchangeable, immaterial, unique, all-powerful, sovereignty just and good, have we not a complete idea of His attributes?

No, because that is merely giving names to concepts. Concepts are merely concepts, nothing more. God is a concept.

My original answer was more informative and didnt border empty opinion. "Yes, judging from your point of view, because you think that you sum up everything in those terms; but you must understand that there are things which transcend the intelligence of the most intelligent man, and for which your language, limited to your ideas and sensations, has no expressions. Your reason tells you that God must possess those perfections in the supreme degree; for, if one of them were lacking, or were not possessed by Him in an infinite degree, He would riot be superior to all, and consequently would not be God. In order to be above all things, God must undergo no vicissitudes, He must have none of the imperfections of which the imagination can conceive.

You assert but haven't given me one example. That is not only useless, but dishonest.

I would actually like to hear your take on something but all I've gotten are quotes and insults. I would appreciate even an empty opinion, not unoriginal regurgitation.

Yet, jealousy falls right into imperfections....

You shall not worship them or serve them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God” (Exodus 20:4-5)

Although the Bible thumpers will always twist meanings to fit their beliefs.

If scripture is ever considered undeniable proof of something, I will consider what you have to say. But sadly for dogmatic attempts at discussion, it isn't.
