There are many different concepts of what the United States should be and this is why so many different types of people with so many differing opinions duke it out as they each to themselves believe THEY have the right model.

Well...there is only...ONE MODEL...quite possibly the GREATEST WORDS EVER WRITTEN. This being the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights. It is adaptive as well as specific in saying that...and this is not verbatim...when the GOVERNMENT of the UNITED STATES no longer follows what is outlined within the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights thus NO LONGER REPRESENTS THE WILL AND RIGHTS OF THE PEOPLE...IT IS THE PEOPLES DUTY...and it is very specific about this...it does not use the words right or obligation...but uses the word...DUTY...to REMOVE SAID GOVERNMENT AND USING THE GUIDELINES OF THE U.S. CONSTITUTION...THE PEOPLE MUST INSTALL A NEW GOVERNMENT THAT IS OF THE PEOPLE...BY THE PEOPLE...AND FOR THE PEOPLE.

There is no other Country in the World that has such POWER assigned to it's people. And there is no greater written words that what is THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES.

I do disagree strongly with Jean Paul's suggestion that we, as individuals, must hang our heads in shame for the actions (or non-actions) of the collective. This has been a long descent into feudalism.

I'm not advocating we as individuals hang our heads in shame. What the hell good would that do? I am advocating we step up and reassert our rights, as you got that part, but be rest assured that guilt will only get in the way.

I am saying we are them and if we are sick and tired of them being so corrupt then we should stop being so corrupt. I am saying that as long as we keep feeding the beast that beast will continue to grow biting our hands at every turn. Starve the beast - within us all - and be free. We will not be free if we think we must keep paying for a government that reviles our rights.

I agree with you upon this post. What will Bitching about something get you? Answer...NOTHING!

Either do something about a perceived injustice or BE QUIET so others can formulate some actionable fixes.

And you are correct in saying...there is no them or they...there is ONLY US! Once some people around here figure that out...the quicker we can repair what is broken!

You are agreeing with everything that is happening in Iraq and Afghanistan AND EVERYTHING else the military industrial complex is doing.

I do agree with you in many ways. I think I can relate to your frustration towards the collective American society- don't you just want to smack some sense into it ? I sure do, but it's not a physical entity.

To say that we are they is effectively laying collective blame in the sense of accusing us all of wilful complicity. In a sense that is true, but in certain important respects it is not. You know as well as the rest of us what peaceful non-compliance will get you these days. I don't participate in my own servitude any more than I absolutely must, and I have had some success in inspiring others to do the same. I'm sure you do that as well. If I were more an optimist than I am, I'd say that perhaps our little acts of civil disobedience will turn the tides. Perhaps so, but the sense of futility is pretty strong.

The situation has gone too far. The problems we face now are deeply entangled and it's likely that no policy wrenches or quiet non-compliance will unravel them safely. We need to brace ourselves for chaos, and the words of the warrior poets should be inspiring people with the courage to face that.

The point I was trying to make was that an inspiring speech to rally the resistance would probably be most effective if the audience isn't left with the sense it's just been lectured at.

Down with the king. Give me liberty or give me death. Here here ! Cheers.

WOW! There Randy! That was one heck of a Smack Down! Now I will not get in between you two but...are you not doing the same things you state by spending so much time BITCHING...and so little time...trying to FIGURE SOMETHING OUT!?

Don't get me wrong...I agree with some of the NON-PERSONAL concepts you have posted...but what is the plan? Can you tell people an idea to fix these issues? Do you personally attempt to rectify the situation? Or...are you just BITCHING and saying things are to F'd up to be fixed?

In my Third Job...I am a PROBLEM SOLVER and I think I have at the very least a few ideas to solve a few issues you have posted about.

FIX IDEA #1...DON'T GIVE UP!
FIX IDEA #2...One Person has great POWER if used at the right pressure point.
FIX IDEA #3...The EASIEST way to ELIMINATE A CORRUPTER OF POWER...is to bring them into the light.
FIX IDEA #4...There are people who have GREAT KNOWLEDGE that are unhappy in the way things are...FIND
THEM AND CONVINCE THEM TO HELP RESTORE BALANCE.
FIX IDEA #5...Make it impossible for Politicians to receive Corporate Money...even if it is lawful...by connecting
the DOTS that outline who is sponsoring progressive Legislation.
FIX IDEA #6...It is IMPERATIVE to get the CURRENT AND FORMER MEMBERS OF THE U.S. MILITARY on
the side of U.S. Citizens who wish to reign in CORRUPTION AND UNNEEDED SPENDING. If you
press too hard on the ANTI-WAR sentiment...and I can tell you were not in either although this war
is played out on a World Wide Stage...you will ALIENATE a VERY STRONG AND RESPECTED
VOTER BASE. If you have ever noticed...when Veterans Talk...PEOPLE LISTEN.

I'm not here to rally any resistance. The resistance doesn't need pretty speeches, and anyone who does in order to resist would not be worth much in terms of resistance.

I am here to make clear what the facts are. It is not my opinion that the it is the people who hold the inherent political power, this is a fact. It is not my opinion that people get the government they deserve, it is a fact.

Randevious, my brother, if you don't know me well enough by now, you never will. I refuse to vote and will vote no more forever. I despise the election process and its dog and pony show and it matters not who gets elected, as long as there are people who are willing to stand for the rule of law then that is all that matters.

Let those who love their bread and circuses vote and smugly pat themselves on the back for their "participation". Let those who fight for the rule of law be given their due.

Although I do agree with you on much of your postings I have to say that a "Pretty Speech" goes a long way. Whether to sway the masses to revolt or calm down, a good speaker has a certain power to lead a lot of people into change.

Even the video in the OP has us speaking through the thread because it touched a nerve and that isn't accomplished with a simple word or two.

Your longer post for example raised eyebrows, got people thinking and in turn more involved in the thread topic.

Sometimes people are so enraged, frustrated and disjointed that a speech made using the right verbage and passion can gather them together towards a single goal. I hate to even compare it but Obama did this not too long ago with his "Yes We Can" speeches.

Too bad he didn't tho...and that's why we're here.

No doubt about the left right paradigm - just thought it was Ron Paul against the Fed but he sold out to Romney so done with him.

IMO - Really if somebody stepped up & explained how these private Central Bankers are ripping off the entire world - they would win the US Presidency in a landslide or more likely they would get their head blown off - see JFK.

But in the end even if Bernie is a Socialist or Communist & he wants to end the "Private Federal Reserve Bank" then he is a friend of mine.
