Apparently tiring of US soil as a source of campaign dollars, the Obama campaign is headed overseas -- with its celebrity friends in tow. The European Obama campaign starts next week in Paris on July 4 with a reception organized by various fundraising heavy-hitters. Independence Day fundraisers in Paris – now that’s a flag-waving campaign.

www.breitbart.com...

Proving that Obama's support among likely voters in American, you know that country that is NOT Europe he is holding a fundraiser in Paris, so that all of his socialist friends can raise money for him there! Happy Birthday America! Obama is gone!!!!!

Is this even legal? I never heard of a President holding fundraisers outside the country before!

I hate the fact of Obama and Romney raising funds from big corporations, which both of them do, and from millionaires/billionaires at the level they have been. With that said - at least these corporations are American buying our election. Now Obama has decided he will take money from big corporations and from Parisians for his campaign effort - how American! I wonder how the Democrats would respond if Mitt Romney held a fundraiser in Tel Aviv?

Does this guy have no shame?! If he gets re-elected, we get what we deserve. I don't want to be a part of it, but I don't really have a realistic choice at this point. Unbelievable.

Clooney is nothing more than a prostitute in this situation

Shame on you Obama.

Peace

ETA: And on further research as pointed out, it is indeed a misleading thread title.

But for some reason, even tho I can edit, I'll keep the most important part of my post because the sentiment can be used almost every day.

Find a thread and slip it in. Works every time.

Peace

Typical (false) propaganda.

www.hollywoodreporter.com...

The Obama campaign posted an invitation on its website Friday revealing that the presidential pal-in-chief will appear at a pair of Americans Abroad for Obama events

So it is wrong for Obama to reach out to Americans that are living outside of the United States???

So Obama is not even going to be in America for the 4th? Not even going to celebrate with Americans? I guess this sums up how much he REALLY loves his Country.

You should have done your research before spouting off.

Obama is not going to this event...and the OP hacked the title to make it look like he is.

Here is the real title of the source article: "Obama Campaign Celebrates Independence Day ... with Fundraiser in Paris"

Obama CAMPAIGN....not Obama.

Great idea.

I think it's awesome that he's doing this. He's essentially saying "thank you France. Without your nations support over 200 hundred years ago, The United States would not exist."
That would be correct. What is wrong with paying homage to the most important nation in terms of swinging the tide of the revolution?
Did the patriots suddenly not need naval help once Obama was elected or something?

Exactly right. The Obama campaign is holding the event. President Obama will not be attending. It still doesn't sound exactly right to most Americans most likely. Believe me, I am absolutely looking forward to the end of the current administration this November.

These events are for American citizens living abroad in different countries.

Why shouldn't they be involved just as much as anyone who is living here in the United States? They still get to vote, they are still American citizens....I honestly don't see the big deal.

It's just more propaganda to spread to try to say that Obama is anti-American...even though this shows him and his campaign are going out of their way to try to include all Americans.

So his campaign is doing this solely for reaching out to American citizens in France, and has nothing to do with sharing an Independance Day celebration with the nation who rightfully deserves the credit as having helped the US to victory.
That kind of takes the fun out of this.
