The central object in Cylinder Seal VA243 is not a star. No one can see surrounding stars when the sun is directly overhead. The blackness of space and all its stars are washed out in the color blue. The central object in the image is actually the large planet called Tiamat in the moment that it explodes. This planet was located in the space between Mars and Jupiter. The asteroid belt is now in that location.

Actually the link you give for Tiamat is for the Babylonian mythology of a chaos monster.

Tiamat is also the hypothetical planet proposed by Zecharia Sitchin to have existed between the orbit of Mars and Jupiter (BTW - the image you gave for the asteroid belts is highly exaggerated, it is no where near that dense).

According to Sitchin the planet didn't 'explode', here is what he proposed:

According to Sitchin, Nibiru (whose name was replaced with MARDUK in original legends by the Babylonian ruler of the same name in an attempt to co-opt the creation for himself, leading to some confusion among readers) collided catastrophically with Tiamat (a goddess in the Babylonian creation myth the Enûma Eliš), which he considers to be another planet once located between Mars and Jupiter. This collision supposedly formed the planet Earth, the asteroid belt, and the comets. Sitchin states that when struck by one of planet Nibiru's moons, Tiamat split in two, and then on a second pass Nibiru itself struck the broken fragments and one half of Tiamat became the asteroid belt. The second half, struck again by one of Nibiru's moons, was pushed into a new orbit and became today's planet Earth.

Now there is a theory about a planet being where the asteroid belt is between Mars and Jupiter that is a bit more....realistic?, in my humble opinion that is. It's just a hypothesis, however it is a LOT more grounded in science than Sitchin's, er....theories.

I'm not sure if I believe in this other hypothesis, but it sounds a heck of a lot more plausible to me than Nibiru. Here is a link if you'd like to have a read about it:

Actually no. I'm afraid it's the other way around:

Thanks for the YouTube links. I've watched so many Planet X and Nibiru YouTube videos, I think I've seen all or almost all of them. Most of them that tell the Sumerian story seem like fables and the other videos that claim to show "evidence" are not scientific, but amateurish.

I really would become a Nibiru believer if it all made sense and just one credible astronomer alive today will say that it's true and it's being tracked. I don't buy the argument that every astronomer is keeping this a secret so that people don't panic. I think some astronomers somewhere in the world would be telling the world press that a brown dwarf with its own orbiting planets and moons is heading our way. We're not hearing that.

Unless someone can explain the story better for me, I can't believe that an advanced alien civilization would come to Earth wanting to do mining when there are other rich sources of minerals in our solar system and beyond. Why would they involve themselves in hard, manual labor that made them tired and half of them rebelled because of the hard work, and so they decided to manipulate DNA of animals to create humans whom would be their slaves? I'm sorry but this does not sound like an advanced alien civilization.

A real (not fabled) advanced alien civilization would have found other sources for all the minerals they need without coming to Earth to dig mines. It would have astronauts who would not do manual, hard labor because they would have high technology. If they are really so advanced, there would not be a rebellion causing them to have to create slaves to do manual labor for them. They would have to change the DNA, wait many years for the new species to propagate, then they would have to teach and instruct their new slave race on how to do this hard labor in the mines.

It just doesn't make any sense. I'm trying to be open minded. Instead of giving me YouTube links, someone please explain how any of the fable makes any sense. Thanks!

Edit to add: Also, why would any of the Sumerian story have anything to do with the Mayan calendar stopping on 21 Dec 2012? I don't see the connection. It's like, we know there might be something weird happening on that date connected to the Mayans, but now the Sitchin believers have chosen that same date as the time of Nibiru. So what are you saying? The Anunnaki were in the Mayan cities manipulating the Mayan calendar to coincide with their return? Someone, anyone, please explain. Thanks.

The whole thing reminds me of some "B" rated old Scifi movie. I remember the first book of his that I read, I was dumb founded thinking that someone in the library was having fun by putting a fiction book in the non-fiction area.

It actually is in a pretty b-rated scifi movie, but it's not old. Cowboys and Aliens. That's the "big shocker" towards the end of the film. They came here for gold. I have to say I was mighty disappointed. It was as if they couldn't come up with their own motive for the aliens, so they went on a conspiracy forum or read one of Sitchin's books and plagiarized it.

Specific questions for Sitchin believers:

Are you saying that when the Anunnaki first landed on Earth, there was no humanoid species more advanced than Homo Erectus? If so, please estimate the time frame in B.C. that they first landed on Earth. If you think that the Anunnaki transformed (by DNA manipulation) Homo Erectus into Homo Sapiens, how many test tube babies did they have to create in order to have a sufficient gene pool to avoid incestuous (unhealthy) breeding of the new species? How many years did they have to wait for the new species to become viable in terms of both procreation and learning capacity? Did the Anunnaki teach the first Homo Sapiens everything as you would a newborn baby? Then, they turned the new Homo Sapiens species into slave labor? Did they kill off the Homo Erectus species after Homo Sapiens became a growing, self-procreating population of workers?

I just would like some details.

So first off (me being a witness to the events of 9/11) I am supposed to take everything that I heard, smelled, saw, felt and tasted on that day and throw it out completely because you (and many others like yourself) want to cry conspiracy?

Okay, I'll bite for a second. If what you are saying is true, then I am supposed to believe that these (apparently untrained [yet they were trained, by us no less], under funded [very funded actually], and unskilled [they had been fighting the russians for years, so very skilled]) muslims were not capable of pulling off such a feat. Let's not forget the first attempt at blowing up the trade centers.

So now here come the unasked questions. If this was ordered by the government, where are the hundreds of people that would have witnessed them setting the explosives? Where are the hundreds if not thousands of zombitized government employees who not only would have signed off on the events but acted to pull off the events? You expect me to believe that a government that can't even provide support for a region stricken by a hurricane (New Orleans, Katrina), was so properly prepared to expel any attack (foreign or domestic) but failed to do so when such an attack happened in Oklohoma?
