It means "non-violent", which part of saying things or holding signs is violence?
Oh you mean that people cannot control themselves and commit violence shouldn't be held accountable for their actions and instead we should condemn the victims?

What about with rape? If a woman dresses super sexy, is it her fault she got raped too since she provoked it with her hot body?

Well, actually your analogy is often used in court as a valid defense. Not that I agree with it, but it does happen and it does carry merit.

BUT, I never said they shouldn't be held accountable for their action, I only said the actions were justified and well-deserved. Part of "personal responsibility" means doing what you feel is right and then accepting the consequences afterwards. If I were one of the youth in that crowd, and I did what I felt was justified, and I went to jail for it, I would still feel justified and satisfied. Sometimes things that are "right" are also "illegal" and that is just the nature of things. Still worth it.

Ha! what a bunch of jerks those guys were. They remind me of a little kid who will stick their finger in your face yelling "I'm not touching you! I'M NOT TOUCHING YOU!!!" And then go crying to mommy when the get punched in the arm. So stupid...and their intentions were obvious. There's no doubt in my mind Christians would have acted the SAME way if roles were reversed.

Well you can see the typical liberal bull# in this thread.

Let me guess, if the situation was reversed the Christians would still get thrown under the bus by the ATS Muslim sympathizers.

Did they physically attack anyone? No

BS and you know it. If I stand in front of your house, in the street, with a legal permit, and I shout hateful things at you. You should kick my ass. You have every right to kick my ass. The law might say otherwise, but you and I are men, and we know better. If you did kick my ass, and my brother and friends show up to defend me, and you tell them what happened, they will say that I deserved it, and they will drag my sorry ass home. There is "legal" and there is "right" and I tend to follow what is right and let the legalities take care of themselves.

Hey, I am all for that. Enough of the political correctness, lets bring out all the dirty laundry out and deal with it.

But why is Muslim religion is constantly participating in so many wars going on in the world?

My take is that the Christian US is the one engaged in wars all over the world. What was the Vietnam war, the Iraq war, the Afghanistan War, the drone killings in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Yemen, Somalia, what about the Korean war, the US death squads in Central America, Chile....

There is most definitely something very wrong with the US and it is individual like you at the back end of US government policies.

All you can come up with is blaming Muslim victims.
edit on 27-6-2012 by Ilovecatbinlady because: (no reason given)

First of all i am not American.... second as i said before i have NOTHING against Muslims so stop these crap that i am just like everyone else and so forth bla bla bla....

But you are telling me that.. if an Orthodox Christian decides to become a Muslim... we would have caught off his head? An example is the following video :

WARNING RAW IMAGES

* I REMOVED THE VIDEO - because i would have got my self banned *

Also for you who claims to know so many things about the wars that "Christians" are engaging in so many wars upon Muslims.... it seems you know almost nothing about what the Muslims do!! OR you might know but you dont want to accept it!

Muhammad himself responded violently to criticism of Islam, if the first biography written by a Muslim, Ibn Ishaq, in 768 AD is to be believed, so it isn't so surprising that this crowd of Muslims react with such aggression.

• Muhammad authorised the murder of a number of poets (male & female) who had mocked him. One poet was a mother sleeping with her young children. The Muslim assassin had to move the child aside before thrusting his dagger into her chest. Another victim was a male poet who was, according to Muslim sources, over 100 years old. Mohammed then absolved the Islamic murderers of any wrong doing.

• He was also an accomplished caravan raider who had the propensity to execute prisoners who had been political opponents in the past. One such man had fallen foul of Muhammad when Muhammad was in his early days due to being a better story teller than Muhammad,. "Who will look after my young daughter?" cried the man, moments before he was executed. Muhammad then cursed him.

The Life of Muhammad (768 AD) by Ibn Ishaq

Muhammad allowed his followers to assassinate people who criticised him and then absolved the killers of any wrong doing. He also personally ordered the execution of people who had criticised him in the past.

Excellent work, Ollncasino, it's heartwarming to see someone who did his homework.

I can understand that a lot of people automatically favor one group over another due to preconceived notions or allegiances.

However the ultimate truth of the matter is that all of these religions, politics, etc, they are cut from the same cloth. It's all make believe fantasy we created to 'enhance' our living standards, develop our society, and in theory, add enjoyment and satisfaction and identity to everyone's lives.

When you boil it all down to the base material, it is clear we are all human beings and that we are susceptible to the same types of follies. No one's perfect, and we all have our own vices.

That's why it doesn't matter what race, religion, nationality, etc that I am if I hurt someone. It hurts physically and it is wrong to inflict that upon your fellow humans, especially when it becomes arbitrary.

Plus remember that violence begets more violence, as revenge and vengeance are often nearly irresistible urges that we all have from time to time. There is no gain at all by harming others arbitrarily, none. It brings no benefit to mankind, it brings us all down and lowers the standards of random good life for everyone. And the cycle of violence ensues.

I am tired of thinking of people as groups anyways, groups don't exist. Individual humans exist and they are all the same yet all quite different simultaneously. Maybe it would be reasonable to think of all humans as one big group, the human race, but all of these little splinter factions and such are just tiresome and I cannot entertain such fantasies much longer.

Who cares what race, religion, whatever ?
Humans are humans, final answer.
I am convinced that treating us all the same (the way I wish myself to be treated by others), is the correct solution and the path forward to making progress.

Time to break this cycle once and for all.

If a Christian group was crashing a Muslim festival, they obviously had some point of contention and expected backlash. They also seemed to expect the police to protect them. Why?

Natural consequences, if I throw trash in your yard, you have every right to kick it back in mine, and if it escalates and you kick my ass..... fine. That is what happens to people when they pick fights, eventually they get their ass kicked.

Good for the Muslims.

Well they may have been looking for a fight but violence is never really an answer... Typical Christians in there sh# stirring I suppose they wouldn't understand much else haha.

Pretty funny how 75% of the comments on the first page have been blacked out/edited!!! Me thinks this post was not received well by some (many).

Seems to me like they're white supremacists masquerading as a "Christian group". That being said, I agree with a previous poster: both sides behaved poorly, both sides are wrong.

Did you hear the accent of one of the guys in the van? Clearly Latino with English being second language. Not sure how that constitutes being a white supremacist, unless these groups allow the token minority to further mask their dastardly deeds.

Be careful of anyone who says "Why remove it" Look back over that dudes post, he has probably already hit the alert button he has peed his panties. These "guys" like getting people like you and I banned here.

Check the TOS terms here just in case passing the vid to him is an infraction. He will rat you out very fast.

I hope the Christians are OK.

See how everything has went quiet here?

Yes but we must resist this at all costs because obviously it would be "right" but also illegal to "do what is necessary".

And I don't think there are enough bullets either.

So just saying, that's quite a slippery slope there.
It kinda is the reason why history is so, grotesque.

It is indeed in human nature to get frustrated and want to just "end it" with the "final solution" (violence), but this must be countered with other facets of the human existence.

Logic, compassion, forgiveness, justice.

If we truly could uphold these great virtues we wouldn't even be having this debate in the first place.

And by the way, this debate has happened countless times over hundreds of years. "How to exist in public society as a citizen in a free nation". This is a very complicated and difficult thing to grapple with, as our peoples have grappled and struggled with it for our entire history. They bled, and shed many tears in those struggles.

And look at us now. We are sooooo ignorant. All of us are.
We need education more than anything.

We gotta put ourselves in other peoples shoes more often, see what it must be like to live their life. See what it was that scarred them.

I believe every person can be saved from ignorance, and that knowledge will bring an even greater renaissance, a true golden age for mankind. But violence will never have a part of that, because they (peace and war) are incompatible.

I totally know you know all of this, because you are usually saying the same thing. So really I am not coming after you personally, but for anyone who read this far in the thread. And I guess it's sort of rambling because I'm bored and there isn't really anything going on.

I still don't have Diablo 3 so yeah, bored. Got a demo key and it's great so I can't wait till my full copy arrives. Then you won't hear a peep from me for like 2 weeks.

Looks like the christians were itching for a pissing contest, and were lawfully escorted out. If I assembled a bunch of satanists at a babtist convention, I would expect the same treatment... that is if there were any of us left after the stake burning. I'm weeping tears for ya, guys. Seriously.

What the hell was that? That kind of articulate, open-minded, pertinent, fact-based common sense has no business here!

Excellent rebuttal, and not much else to say about it really. Although, I don't think it is realistic, but that doesn't mean we should stop trying to attain what you speak of.

In fact, just this afternoon I was giving a lecture about getting back to basics, and I used Vince Lombardi's story as the beginning of my lecture, and I ended it with a Lombardi quote, and that quote is perfect for your post.

” Gentlemen, we are going to relentlessly chase perfection, knowing full well we will not catch it, because nothing is perfect. But we are going to relentlessly chase it, because in the process we will catch excellence. “ -- Vince Lombardi, day one with the 1 and 10 Packers that never again saw a losing season under his leadership.

Great post flash.

I watched the video, and obviously no one is innocent in any of this.

Political drama from the video aside, I see it like this.

The Christians went to troll the Muslims. They have the "right" but should have the decency not to. The same way they choose to forgo that decency when dealing with the gay community, or people at abortion clinics. They are trolls.

The Muslims reacted violently, apparently two years in a row, with no police intervention. I couldn't believe how many ten year old wannabe gangsters there were. That shouldn't fly, even if they are being trolled. The police were being lazy and just wanted the trouble makers to leave instead of trying to bring order to the crowd, whose physical actions were a bigger threat. Water balloons would have been funny. Throwing rocks and milk crates? That's dangerous.

Two groups of idiots, three if you count the police for not doing their jobs properly.

Actually they would be invited for some burgers and fries and a hearing of the story of Jesus from the Bible. Muslims cannot handle being threatened in their belief as weak as that may be.
