Here is just 1 example I was talking about in the other thread with religions coming together for a common cause.-

We really need to get out of this mindset that the actions of a few somehow translate into the actions of all.

The real Muslim community in Dearborn -

Detroit's Muslim community joins Jewish groups to help with Mitzvah Day

This year, for the first time, the region’s Muslim community is collaborating with the Jewish groups.

“There is a mandate from our holy book, the Quran, that speaks of encouraging cooperation in doing good,” said Victor Ghalib Begg, chairman of the Warren-based Council of Islamic Organizations of Michigan.

“Taking the religious mandate, it doesn’t matter who we work with.”

By working with the Jewish Community on their Mitzvah or “good deed” Day, “we achieve dual objectives: to help the Christians on Christmas, and at the same time, build friendships with our Jewish cousins,” Begg said.

This year, the Muslim community is collaborating with the Jewish community in Christmas day volunteerism efforts, but next year, it could be on its own, he said.

“Next year will be even more interesting,” he said, given that the Jewish Community will not hold its Mitzvah Days on Christmas if it falls on a Saturday, which is the Sabbath.

The Council of Islamic Organizations this year is organizing a group of about 20 to 30 Muslims to team up with nearly 900 Jewish volunteers.

No serious violence....your article says. I guess concrete thrown at people's heads is mild...compared to oh I don't know, some of the strange stuff that happened at OWS rallies.

CHRISTIANS ?

Yeah right. More like fundamentalists carrying signs that were hostile to Arabs and then shooting it on video to say "Aww look at us. They attacked us because we're Christian"

NO ONE IS BUYING THAT STORY ! THIS AINT 1934

They attacked them because they were disrupting their festival with hate filled rhetoric and xenophobic material on the signs they were carrying.

Sticks and stones.....still does not give someone the right to throw projectiles into a crowd when words are the only thing being thrown in the first place.....that kind of thing is assault. And if the muslims want Dearborn so what...its Michigan who cares? Give em Detroit....they'll be happy.

Still it should be considered typical behavior for both sides involved...the Christians make you feel guilty for being who you are, and the muslims like to throw rocks....and murder their wives.....and blow themselves up......and play with their shoes.

Come to think of it most extreme Christians only kill themselves after the koolaide party....they don't usually kill each other.

Im starting to see a pattern here as it pertains to the extremes of both sides......and both are backwards religions in every respect.

Religious extremes and worship is for the weak minded. God didn't want that for humanity, he wanted ice cream and nachos for everyone to share.

When people stop using God as a crutch for their own latent insecurities and start believing in themselves, then they can believe in God in the right fashion.

yeah, and nothing has changed because nobody is listening.

you want to watch Christian Adults fight Muslim kids then because that's whats in the video

You sure make alot of assumptions about what people want to watch? Oh and I am sure those CHILDREN drove themselves to the event, as well as to their Mosque since they were born? LMAO!!!

Hey bro, it's no matter what religion the little foul mouthed punks worship because they need a good flogging either way and their man made God would not do a damn thing about it. If he really even existed, he would be clapping and cheering while sucking down some good pilsner suds. wEEEOOO!!! ~$heopleNation

You are trash. You think that people can just bring a pigs head to a peaceful muslim conference, and that is ok?

and when the muslims get pissed off at the outrageous act by a bunch of attention seeking, trailer trash assholes, and throw a pepsi bottle at them, you want to talk about pressing charges?

Where are people like you arguing about this crap when im out in public? I'd love to put a beating on you. I would thoroughly enjoy it. You are whats wrong with America today.
well clearly, you lack any class or finesse whatsoever but, from what i've read so far, the pigs head was DRAWN, not freshly butchered.

sticks and stones ... but words (and pictures) can never hurt me (or you)

a peaceful muslim conference
?? was it now ?? but, i thought it was a public festival .. would you folks get a story straight, please ??

sure, punishable acts should be punished and tossing projectiles is punishable in this culture.
don't like it ?? go somewhere that suits your preferences or hold the "conference" on private property.

inviting the demon in and conducting an ambush accomplishes what ?? exactly ??
but yet, i'm the "trash" ??
yeppers, your cup of intolerance sure is overflowing

anytime, anywhere, and bring a freakin army

Funny..

here in the UK its the muslims doing the inciting... Burning poppies on Remembrance day, spitting on our soldiers, calling for Christians and unbelievers to be beheaded...

And none of them got stoned..

Maybe we should start... Wonder what you lot what say bout that!

The burning of poppies was done by the "Muslims against crusades" group. This vile little group was made up of around 50 members (and has since been banned)

50 Muslims out of the estimated 2.8 million Muslims living in Britain hardly justifies the comment "here in the UK its the Muslims doing the inciting"

Where the Muslims have extreme and repugnant groups like Islam4uk and MAC's we have repugnant little groups like the BNP and EDL. I assure you the BNP and EDL does as much spitting as Islam4UK and MAC!

People should keep in mind it was older missionaries going after the kids, not adults. They also showed up outside of a mosque to hand out religious material in an ttempt to get people to convert. The Imam warned his group to pay attention because the missionaries were targeting the kids, not the adults.

While I dont agree with the choice of throwing water bottles, this one christian group has a history of inciting problems at events.

There were other christian groups present, with their religious material, who did just fine in their behavior and the Muslims did just fine leaving them be.

as much as i appreciate this input, it doesn't negate the actions of assault.

provocation happens on every corner of every city, daily, no religion necessary.

remove the religion of this event and what's left ??
kids committing assault against the ELDERLY ... now, isn't That a bonified hate crime?

thanks but no thanks ... IF this is any religion of peace, i'll pass.

Ok, I don't even know what to think of this one. Looks like a bunch of Christians walk into a predominately Muslim festival, if I am understanding this right, and well...watch for yourself what happens.

They get stoned, egged, bottled, and cursed at by American Muslims. The police, outnumbered by a lot, are put in the position of having to escort the Christian group out. Even though they aren't the ones throwing the stuff!

So what is right here? Who is right here? The video guy makes some excellent points like "They can't give us two officers to protect us, but they sure can get 14 to lead us out!"

But I figured this one might provide an interesting conversation piece for the political madness forum- cause this is madness, if nothing else. Both sides have a right, but the police must make decisions based on manpower... Bizarre.

:shk:

With all due respect, this comes off as yet another Christian persecution complex, watching the video, you can see their signs, and their doing nothing but attempting to antagonize the Muslims the guy in the beginning of the video is just trying to use it so he can tell the world everyone is anti-christian.....

I am not for Christians crashing other religious parties, but really, had it been the other way around with the Christians throwing concrete and eggs, who would have been arrested and taken to jail for violence? This pc stuff is liberal insanity.

Both sides are allowing the manipulation of TPTB. Why has Islam been so at war with Christians and Jews for so long?

Seriously

You need to get out more and take your tinted specks off.. Around my area there are none whites allowed areas.. In Alum Rock for instance, if you are a single white female you will not make it through the area un-molested.. In Halesowen, I was at ASDA. In the multi-storey car park was a big gang of muslims sexually harassing a white woman trying to get to her car... Peaceful and respectful hey?? Needless to say I waded in!

I can cite lots of instances... They are hated in my part of the country and with damn good reason.. When they reach a certain level of population, they become an aggressive, regressive, intolerant, backward stain that is hard to shift..

For people who said the Christians have a right to go to a Muslim festival with signs promoting their religion is like saying KKK members have the right to go to an African American festival promoting their beliefs.

Idiots.

There are places in the world where different groups have lived in peace, at least that is until the Arab Spring.

what the hell does this have to do with religion. The reason is just an excuse. They provoked them and got what they were looking for. Not like the reaction was religiously motivated. They were getting rid of people who showed up in force to start beef. I would throw a damn engine block at them for trying to incite a riot in a place with kids and elderly people. Not an appropriate place to practice intolerance and try and convert people who are happy in their faith.

What the hell were they thinking? People would join them because they pressured them to join?

The reaction was HUMAN not Muslim.

Just like the provocation was HUMAN and Christian.

None of the two represent any religion. Just dumbasses looking for fight.

Like if I was a Muslim who didn't do anything to anyone, read some of the comments that were removed on this thread, then a bunch of redneck idiots come and make my elderly grandfather nervous, my kids nervous, and my neighbors pissed, I WOULD LAUNCH EVERYTHING at them. Not in the name of God, but because I am not a little bitch you can intimidate.

So if a Jew throws a rock at a neo Nazi for "peacefully" marching in support of Hitler then the Jew is at fault?

NO! I would support him and throw the next stone myself!

This accident is a result of a decade long Muslim demonization trough mass media.

Actually, the media has been banging the drum that Islam is the religion of peace.

The media however do not control the Internet and many people have come to their own conclusions.

I mean, Jews dont eat pork aswell - they are in greater numbers, try walking to a AIPAC summit with a pork head on a stick and see what happens.

Jews haven't tried to

• Destroy the Brooklyn bridge

• Blow up an Ohio shopping mall

• Blow up the New York stock exchange

• Blow up the NY subway

• Blow up an Indian diplomat with a shoulder fired grenade launcher

• Blow up National Guard facilities and synagogues in the LA area

• Blow up the Wyoming natural gas refinery & the Transcontinental Pipeline

• Set off a dirty bomb in the USA

• Blow up the US Capitol and Word Bank Headquarters

• Blow up the Sears tower in Chicago

• Blow up NY city train tunnels

• Set off hand grenades in a shopping mall outside Chicago

• Conspiring to attack Fort Dix, New Jersey

• Set off a TAPT bomb in the NY subway

• Blow up a Dallas skyscraper

• Set off a car bomb outside the courthouse in downtown Springfield, Illinois

• Murder civilians in US shopping malls

• Blow up “aviation fuel tanks and pipelines at the John F. Kennedy International Airport”

• Shoot down planes with stinger missiles.

Ordinary people are not as stupid as much as the people who control the media would like to think. They come to their own conclusions.

I am not a religious person, as some of you on here may already know. I have to say though, the way this is being reported is rather unfair in that it paints both Christians and Muslims in a bad light. You cannot tar all Christians with the actions of a handful of clearly fundamentalist (or just mental) people who clearly went out of their way to cause offence to the Muslims at this festival. Yes, there is freedom of speech but there is also incitement to religious hatred, incitement to riot (which this conceivably constituted), etc.

Equally, the reporting saying Muslims stone Christians is highly inflammatory and paints the Muslims as aggressors - in this case, this clearly is not the case.

Basically, this is not about religion. This is about crazy people causing trouble and then bleating when it goes wrong for them. Tough - i hope the Police bill them for wasting Police time and for the man hours for the Officers involved.

Truly religious people are generally peace loving and very nice. I may not agree with their beliefs but i accept they are generally the sort of people that go out of their way to help others, etc. Violence and hate is never on the side of true religion, only of those masquerading under the banner of religion.

I get pissed off every day....I get enraged often too....I still don't assume I have the RIGHT to hurt others because of that emotion.

These children and their parents have every right to be upset at what may seem to them an infiltration and provocation..what they don't have is the right to break the law or to hurt others...which they clearly did.

Except in an act of direct self defense..no one has any rights legal or otherwise to throw anything, harm anyone..just because their feelings are hurt.

What they do have the right to do, is look away if they are offended..leave.. hold fast to their beliefs in the face of provocation and/or simply ignore and rise above those who would manipulate them.

Self-righteousness is not religion..choosing violence as a first option when there are several other non violent options available..is immaturity and stupidity.

The whole idea that you are not allowed to criticize region - or cant do so without 'expecting' violence against your person is a very slippery slope and a dangerous back door attack on everyone's right to freedom..of mind, thought, belief and our freedom of faith and to not believe.

The UN has already expressed its desire to create 'anti-blasphemy' laws, now called "Defamation of religions" mandates......and if the UN has its way....in a very short time just publicly saying there is a link between radical Islam/Christianity/Sikhism or any other religious group and terrorism..will be illegal.

Universal rights exist regardless of government or religions..resolutions like the above though..will remove that premise...and the only rights we will end up having are those bestowed to us...making us all subjects of government and religions rather than free people.

I don't agree with fundamentalism period and having common sense, I can even agree that it is not wise to go into an Arabic festival preaching the Christian religion but I will damn well defend their right to do so..for as long as I live...ditto..Muslims attending atheist gatherings..or Christian gatherings...its not that attendance that's the problem..is what you and they do after its occured....and in that..there are many ways..be they humorous, tactical, reasoned, or enlightened ways of dealing with people you don't like before you go throwing cement at their heads. See my sig for one example.

This isn't the first time this region has come up against this issue.
This is a link to the problems between Islamic and christian fundamentalists that occurred only last year: www.americanthinker.com...
