The tech to create a sound inside of your head does exist, but its not so much "beaming into your head" as it is "resonating" a sound. It has been in use for years by speech and hearing professionals, most often during testing a patient's ability to hear various pitch and tone changes. I've had these tests done myself, and its kind of weird being able to hear a sound like it was right in front of you or next to you, but its actually being transmitted through a small device pressed to the bones like an inch behind your ear.
