“...So their Lord accepted their prayers, (saying): I will not suffer to be lost the work of any of you whether male or female. You proceed one from
another ...” (Quran 3: 195).
"Every soul will be (held) in pledge for its deeds" [Noble Quran 74:38]
"Who so does that which is right, and believes, whether male or female, him or her will We quicken to happy life." [Noble Quran 16:97]
"O you who believe! You are forbidden to inherit women against their will. Nor should you treat them with harshness, that you may take away part of
the dowry you have given them - except when they have become guilty of open lewdness. On the contrary live with them on a footing of kindness and
equity. If you take a dislike to them, it may be that you dislike something and Allah will bring about through it a great deal of good." [Noble Quran
"O mankind! Reverence your Guardian-Lord, who created you from a single person, created, of like nature, his mate, and from this pair scattered (like
seeds) countless men and women. Reverence Allah, through Whom you demand your mutual (rights), and reverence the wombs (that bore you); for Allah ever
watches over you." [Noble Quran 4:1]
Woman according to Quran is not blamed for Adam's first mistake. Both were jointly wrong in their disobedience to God, both repented, and both were
"And for women are rights over men similar to those of men over women." [Noble Quran 2:228]
"For Muslim men and women, for believing men and women, for devout men and women, for true men and women, for men and women who are patient and
constant, for men and women who humble themselves, for men and women who give in charity, for men and women who fast, for men and women who guard
their chastity, and for men and women who engage much in Allah's praise, for them has Allah prepared forgiveness and great reward." [Noble Quran

“Do treat your women well and be kind to them, for they are your partners and committed helpers.”
“God is gentle, and He loves the adoption of a gentle attitude in all matters.” (related by Al-Bukhari and Muslim)
“When a man gives his daughter in marriage and she dislikes it, the marriage shall be annulled.” (Once a virgin girl came to the Prophet
(p.b.u.h.) and said that her father had married her to a man against her wishes. The Prophet gave her the right to repudiate the marriage.)
"Paradise lies at the feet of your mothers."
Prophet Mohammed (p.b.u.h.) stood and asked his companions to stand up when a funeral procession passed by. When the companions said it was the
funeral of a Jew, the prophet said: “Is he not a human being?”
A man came to Allah's Apostle and said, "O Allah's Apostle! Who is more entitled to be treated with the best companionship by me?" The Prophet said,
"Your mother." The man said. "Who is next?" The Prophet said, "Your mother." The man further said, "Who is next?" The Prophet said, "Your mother."
The man asked for the fourth time, "Who is next?" The Prophet said, "Your father."
"And from amongst His Signs is this: That He created from you wives from amongst yourselves, so that you may find serenity and tranquillity in them.
And He has put between you love and compassion. Indeed, in this are signs for those who reflect." [Surah Ar-Rum 30:21]
"It is the generous (in character) who is good to women, and it is the wicked who insults them."
During the reign of Omar (2nd successor to the Prophet p.b.u.h.), women participated in law making. Omar made a proposal of a certain regulation
concerning marriage. A woman in the mosque stood up and said: “Omar, you can’t do that.” Omar did not tell her, “Shut up, you are a woman, you
have nothing to do with politics, etc.” He asked, “Why?” She made her argument on the basis of Quran. In front of everybody, Omar stood up and
said, “The woman is right and Omar is wrong,” and he withdrew his proposal.
In the most authentic collection of Hadith, Hadith Bukhari, a section is devoted to the participation of women, not only in public affairs, but in the
battlefield, too, and not only as logistical support. Women carried arms, and when there was great danger to the Muslims, they volunteered to
participate even in the battlefield.
What the bible and the torah say about women:
"Let the women learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. For
Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression." (I Timothy 2:11-14)
"Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church:
and he is the saviour of the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything."
"Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith
the law. And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church." (I Corinthians
"Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to
thy husband, and he shall rule over thee." (Genesis 3:16)
"Give me any plague, but the plague of the heart: and any wickedness, but the wickedness of a woman." (Eccles. 25:13)
"Of the woman came the beginning of sin, and through her we all die." (Eccles. 25:22)
"If she go not as thou wouldest have her, cut her off from thy flesh, and give her a bill of divorce, and let her go." (Eccles. 25: 26)
"The whoredom of a woman may be known in her haughty looks and eyelids. If thy daughter be shameless, keep her in straitly, lest she abuse herself
through overmuch liberty." (Eccles. 26:9-10)
"A silent and loving woman is a gift of the Lord: and there is nothing so much worth as a mind well instructed. A shamefaced and faithful woman is a
double grace, and her continent mind cannot be valued." (Eccles. 26:14-15)
"A shameless woman shall be counted as a dog; but she that is shamefaced will fear the Lord." (Eccles.26:25)
"For from garments cometh a moth, and from women wickedness. Better is the churlishness of a man than a courteous woman, a woman, I say, which
bringeth shame and reproach." (Eccles. 42:13-14)
Genesis 19:8 Tells of a man named Lot who offers his daughters to a crowd of would-be rapists. Later, Lot impregnates his own daughters after God
kills his wife for simply looking back at the remains of her city.
Exodus 21:7 God not only sanctions selling ones daughter into slavery, but he also gives out laws on how it should be done.
Leviticus 18:19 Goes onto say that even LOOKING at a menstruating woman is wrong.
Leviticus 19:20 Says that if a man has sex with a slave or betrothed woman he must then “scourge” her. Scourging is a term for a severe flogging
Deuteronomy 20:13-15 Kill all the men and boys in the cities that God “delivers into your hands,” but keep the women for raping.
Deuteronomy 21:11-14 If you see a pretty woman among the captives then just take her home and “go in unto her.”
Deuteronomy 22:13-22 Women, be sure to keep the tokens of your virginity. Otherwise the men of your city may stone you to death.
Deuteronomy 22:23-24 is one of the most cruel and sexist passages of the Torah. It says that women who are raped and fail to “cry out loud” in a
populated area are most likely enjoying the attack should be killed.
Women must cut their hair off if they don't cover it: "If a woman does not cover her head, she should have her hair cut off." (1 Cor. 11:6)
Deuteronomy 25:5-10: states that if a woman is widowed, she would be required to marry her former brother-in-law. This was called a "levirate"
marriage. Their first-born son will later be considered to be the son of the deceased husband. The man could refuse to marry her. Women were not given
a choice in the matter. " If brethren dwell together, and one of them die, and have no child, the wife of the dead shall not marry without unto a
stranger: her husband's brother shall go in unto her, and take her to him to wife, and perform the duty of an husband's brother unto her."
Deuteronomy 22:28-29 requires that a virgin woman who has been raped must marry her attacker, no matter what her feelings are towards the rapist. "If
a man find a damsel that is a virgin, which is not betrothed, and lay hold on her, and lie with her, and they be found; Then the man that lay with her
shall give unto the damsel's father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife...."
"If however the charge is true and no proof of the girl's virginity can be found, she shall be brought to the door of her father's house and there the
men of her town shall stone her to death..." Deuteronomy 22:13-21.
"For man did not come from woman, but woman from man; neither was man created for woman, but woman for man. For this reason, and because of the
angels, the woman ought to have a sign of authority on her head;" 1 Corinthians 11:9, 10.
Leviticus 12:1-5 Quotes God as stating that a woman who has given birth to a boy is ritually unclean for 7 days. If the baby is a girl, the mother is
unclean for 14 days. "If a woman have conceived seed, and born a man child: then she shall be unclean seven days...But if she bear a maid child, then
she shall be unclean two weeks..." It would appear that the act of having a baby is a highly polluting act. To give birth to a girl is twice as
polluting as is giving birth to a boy.
