So I was going to use the word ASSHOLE in the title but....you know the rest.

The point I'm trying to make is how or who decides what we can say?

The above is obviously okay but # or # are "bad words"?

Is anyone on board or am i just an asshole?

They don't want this website to turn trashy. I have no problem with it. I had a comment removed because I said "We're all f***** if this is true" only I spelled the whole word.

It's fine They don't want curse words. It's their site. Their rules.

It is up to the mods here on ATS as it is their media, we have no freedom of speech here as it is their media.
We deal with it or leave.
It does not matter too much to me as I have not much use for cuss words anymore.

I have been told by a mod that if it is in line with the OP not all responses need 2 lines.
It is just favoritism, we deal with it or leave. there are ways around it though.

If you don't know what those are, just think of them as the big sister of corporate networks. They don't watch you (much lol) but decide who you can even talk too. Discrimination can and is mostly automated to an extent, if it passes a certain threshold they will classify certain sites as offensive material. Some are worse than others, some with adjustable thresholds and always white listing, however once certain thresholds are violated, it is more difficult for you ($$$+time+effort) for you to get a site removed from their blacklist, or even rating / classification (net nanny style).

Similar to how whole web domains can be accidentally added to spam filters,or if they've been compromised and inadvertently added.

Hence the referendum on the discussion concerning drugs, containing foul language, trolling, personal attacks, recruitment, etc. that can lead down different rabbit holes.

If I was a conspiracy nut, I'd say they'd want it as clean as possible to extend viewership potential, and dealing with a strict hassle free black & white (greyish at their discretion) policy is much easier less time consuming ($$$+).

But, as a poster above mention, I'm ok with that.

It also leads to more discerning discussion, mostly.

Censorship of language is simply silly. If people are not mature enough to use 'inappropriate' words in non-inappropriate context, then they should not use them. Also, if an adult is not mature enough to hear a word that is in their chosen language and let it not affect them, then they should slam cotton in their ears.
