Rep. King questions how terrorist group member attended White House meeting

House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Peter King (R-N.Y.) has asked the Obama administration to explain why a member of a known terrorist group was allowed to enter the United States last week and participate in high-level meetings at the White House and State Department.

Why indeed is someone from a well known terrorist organization meeting with the White House?

King wrote to Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano on Sunday to ask several questions about Hani Nour Eldin's visit last week. Eldin is a member of Egypt's parliament, but he is also a member of Gamaa Islamiya, or the the Islamic Group, which has been linked to violence in Egypt and is a designated terrorist organization.

Some additional background on Al-Gamma :

Al-Gama'a al-Islamiyya began as an umbrella organization for Egyptian militant student groups, formed, like the Egyptian Islamic Jihad, after the leadership of the Muslim Brotherhood renounced violence in the 1970s

Renounced violence eh?

How does that explain the rape during the overthrow of Mubarak?

Here is more:

In its early days, the group was primarily active on university campuses, and was mainly composed of university students. Originally they were a minority in the Egyptian student movement which was dominated by leftist Nasserists and Marxists.

The leftists were strongly critical of the new Sadat government, and urged Egypt to fight a war of revenge against Israel, while President Sadat wanted to wait and rebuild the military.[3] However, with some "discrete, tactical collaboration" with the government,[4] who sought a "useful counterweight" to its leftist opponents,[5] the group(s) began to grow in influence in 1973.

The motive for this?

More to this?

The White House congratulated Islamist candidate Mohammed Morsi on his election as Egypt’s first freely elected president, calling it a milestone in the country’s transition to democracy.

So Obama called to congratulate the "freely elected" Egyptian "president" and yet put there by the muslim brother hood who "renounced violence" and then turns around and invited the more radical "Al Gamma".

Then of course we have those Egyptians saying, "Egypt's New President: Our Capital 'Shall Be Jerusalem, Allah Willing".

Seems the fearless leader is playing a dangerous game here.

What say you?

I think people should watch brave heart again. Like nothings changed even since way way back in the day. Back then the main kings had Proxy armies to do a lot of the fighting for them. That way they only used there main troops if they absolutely had to. But to crush a rebellion. Put some other leader in power. Kill off an enemy, you don't need your main army for that. All you need is a smaller loyal proxy fighting force. Like good old El-see-eye-ahh-duhh. Come on.... duhhh? There's also plausable deniability, so you can make it look like you're not the enemy. Element of surprise and deception. If you're enemy doesn't know who the real enemy is there in trouble. So why wouldn't they allow them to come by headquarters and shoot the sheat

kudos to Rep. King for his willingness to step forward

neo, how ???
perhaps that'd be a question for kissinger.
especially since he's been around since Nixon and Nixon hosted Sadat, Carter brought us Hezbollah and Hamas, Reagan hosted the Taliban, heck even Ford chose N. Rockefeller (grandson of John D) as VP then gave Nixon a full pardon.
(talk about terrorists within)
so, what's new about this Obama meeting ??

Maybe King is just looking for another terrorist organization that he can support. He was so committed to the last one he supported for a length of over part of 3 decades.

Going back a bunch of years in obama's good ole terrorist consorting days, he had a lot of friends who were what today would be classified as terrorists... Even back then they were.. He just doesn't feel the issue is applicable to him, only to others. He's always been special and considered himself above the average person. Just like every single person he has appointed to various positions..

If you aren't communist, or socialist, or marxist, etc, then he doesn't want you around his personal space.. (but if you are, you get invited to lots of high level white house events). For his supporters, their cognitive dissonance has no limitations.
