So, you think your life sucks?
This from:
www.cbsnews.com...

"An octopus got the joyride of its life last week when it somehow became stuck on the belly of a bottlenose dolphin in the Ionian Sea. More specifically, the tentacled sea creature had a seat on the dolphin's genital slit."

These scientific voyeurs then report," were observing a foursome of dolphins near the island of Kalamos off the west coast of Greece. Suddenly, one of the dolphins leapt out of the water with something strange dangling from its stomach."
Although, I relate this story with tongue in cheek, it is actually believed that the dolphin was attempting to eat the octopus, when the prey turned into perpetrator.
Nature certainly has some strange turns and twists, doesn't it.

Is that the wild kingdom's version of spilling hot coffee in your lap?

Perhaps the dolphin enjoyed it.

This reminds me of a video I watched of an octopus dragging it's self across dry land escaping it's enclosure and making it to nearby tidal pool where after resting it make a break for the open water. Octopus are very intelligent creatures. I wonder if was hitching a ride. Maybe food or octopus of the opposite sex were in short supply where ever he was so he decided to take the show on the road. The animal kingdom has lots of cases of plants and animals hitching a ride.

As far as if the dolphin was down with it or not or maybe even enjoyed it. A**, gas, or grass no one rides for free. It is one of the unwritten rules of the road as George Carlin would say.

Oh man, the comments posted on that site are hilarious.

I believe dolphins are the only other species to have sex for pleasure so maybe there is something to this.
