Not trying to be confrontational or disruptive, but it sounds a lot more like menopause/mid-life-crisis than an awakening

I'm with you. Sounds a lot like just "growing up". To the OP, how old are you if you don't mind?

I agree that 1, 3, 4, 5, and 9 sounds exactly like a mid-life crisis and am open to the thought that as we get older we naturally become more spiritual, hence the 2 merging into a "Spiritual Awakening"

I do not subscribe to the David Wilcox philosophy of Awakening, so I am more inclined to believe that it is a natural process like getting old, but you as a individual will need to seek it rather than it just finds you.

And yes, I am around the age for a midlife crisis... But it's #10 the Synchronicity that has me understanding this as more than that. You know it or you don't, it's nothing that can be taught or proven externally from yourself. It's an internal Knowing.

This is exactly the same as horoscopes - you say a vague bunch of stuff that could apply to anyone, but is worded flatteringly enough so as to make the reader feel it is speaking directly to them, thus massaging their ego and making them feel unique and special.

Yes I remember reading about a fun social experiment where you read a horoscope out loud from any month really and then ask the group if they felt like it applied to them and if so, raise your hand.. then they ask their birthdate .. you find that in most cases.. MANY more people relate to it than should if it had any accuracy whatsoever.. people born all throughout the year will identify in most cases.

I must say, all this is happening to me.

I just hope it is true and not only me but most my friend will sense changes, because if not, how many of us are changing? what will happen to those who don't change...

Last night we were talking about war and stuff before going to see a movie...

And most my friend has bad thoughts on how things should be run, I just kept quiet because I felt like i would be to much of a pain in the ass to explain to them that what they think is wrong and all... It seems like it would had took a life time to explain to them what is wrong...

Awakening have all the symptoms and disorientation of waking up. Enlightenment is what happens when your 'eyes' are still adjusting to the light being turned on. Awareness is what comes after and the state of both being awake and seeing clearly what was always there when you were still asleep and too deep in dreamland to notice.

We too often confuse the exiting energizing stage of waking up and enlightenment with a desired higher state of permanence when in fact they are only transitional stages. Stay exited for too long and you will eventually burn out.

Waking up and turning on the light is not the days work, it is what you do once you are awake that is. Part of it is knowing when to rest and go back to sleep.

I like to think they are exactly where they are supposed to be...for that time and place. Sooner or later they will change. If not in this life then in the next. Or the one after that. Or after that.

Rather than taking the word of an internet poster saying "you're having a spiritual awakening" people should probably consult their doctor if stuff like this is happening. Tingling or itchiness in your scalp can be caused by stress, and if you start hearing voices calling your name you should probably see a specialist...it would be kinda silly to assume it's because "your sixth sense opening up "

Spiritual awakening
riiiiggght, any doctors reading this would freak the hell out

I love the open dialog that takes place on ATS other times there is an ugliness that I find saddening.

Although I myself have never seen men in black, been abducted, seen a ghost or a UFO. I enjoy reading these threads knowing that I have no proof one way or another. I keep my mind open. I can understand posting alternate possibilities but insinuating people are making things up or possibly insane does nothing to further the discussion where information can be openly exchanged with out fear. This is not a school yard playground it's a forum. A place for speaking and LISTENING. This doesn't appear to be a thread posted in a news or science forum but rather a
forum for subject(s) that still remain open to speculation. You cant apply "pics or it didn't happen" to some subjects.

Not one but several people including myself have experienced something out of the norm if it wasn't so out of the norm and profound I am sure many of us would have shrugged it off or went to see the doctor about it. If you don't agree fine I fully support your opinions and feelings I however would expect the same level of respect in return. Now if you have any information or ideas on the matter that I would be very interested in hearing.

Great post OP! Strangely enough some of these things are happening to me. But, I must say I had some help. After I took some Psilocybin mushrooms my whole perception of life turned around. I stopped hunting, even killing insects, I treated every organism in this world if it had a soul, and I love everything and everyone.

I also completely stopped eating sugar, and high fructose corn syrup. I'm also looking into getting my mercury fillings removed.

We need more threads like these.

Yeah entheogens and a good diet really help. Organic foods and periodic fasting and such.

Excellent and beautiful post OP, S&F

Ever since my journey of awakening begun my life has been more and more amazing everyday. I've made changes that my life and body were begging for and have never regretted a single decision I've made since.

I have noticed that more and more people are indeed beginning to peel the wool off of their eyes. I have noticed that more and more new people always show up to my shaman's weekly gatherings, and they bring with them open hearts and open eyes.

Like anything and everything else in life, its impossible to force things onto people, especially when they are not ready. People need to be ready to start their journey, and proper steps must occur. Letting go of our ego's and forgetting everything you think you know is probably the hardest step for most people that I've seen from my experiences.

For all non-believers, I challenge you to find someone who is awakened and have them tell you that it's all nonsense or rubbish.

I find myself repeating "We're all in this together." I look at people I used to consider different from me and the sentence just comes out.

Dont take that approach, your body is your temple. If your temple is unclean, you are unclean. You are what you eat, and as your body is a vessel, the performance depends on the "fuel" you use.
