To U.S. citizens:

If a letter was drafted with the intent of sending it to the White House, and if that letter was about telling the President to NOT get us mixed up in any more wars in the Middle East, would you sign it?

No, but only because I'm pretty convinced our current administration could care less what the people of this or any other country think.

And I doubt any other administration would be better, for what it is worth.

if you were to send that letter, you'd get a head shot of barak obama back, complete with a pre-stamped autograph, and a thank you note for your correspondence.

No, just like I will not write to my damn congressmen or senators. They don't give a damn about us. They have their minds made up. To contact them is to admit that it would make a difference. I have realized now that they don't give a damn about what we think. They keep the phone lines and email boxes open to make us feel like we have a voice even though we don't. It doesn't matter who we put in, unless it is we who are making the decisions, we have no voice. You are either one of them and have some voice, or you aren't, and you don't.

The most we can do is make some noise with posters on the streets and hope for press coverage.

Dont Forget Canada
we do follow US for everything
especially now that we got Harper

To your question .. NO
the simple reason for that answer is
i dont like to take orders from Bush friends
who organised 9/11 to make illegal wars in the ME
while they stay safe in their big rich US homes
when innocent young marines things they are fighting for freedom
killing innocents and kids trying to defend their own country from an invaders

Many young soldiers dont come back home the same.. most of the time
it will hurt the most when they will learn one day ..
they fought innocent people because of some familly elites running the gov
that dont represent the US at all

Did I miss something? A letter ordering the president to stay out of the middle east is not giving us orders, but 'We The People' giving HIM orders. Your post is very confusing.
edit on 6/24/2012 by jiggerj because: (no reason given)

I would sign it. You generally get a better response if it is in writing rather than email. Also had better luck getting a response from my local members rather than the top job. As for if it makes any difference, by itself probably not. But when they get flooded by many letters asking for the same thing it does give them something to seriously consider.

There's no need for a letter. Obama is not going to get involved with another war until after November.

The image above shows what will happen to such a letter...
