Hmmm..

RawStory

Republicans are more likely than Democrats or Independents to incorrectly believe that President Barack Obama adheres to the Muslim faith, according to a recent poll by Gallup.

The poll, conducted June 7-10, found that 18 percent of Republicans believed Obama was Muslim, even though the President is a church-going Christian. In contrast, only 3 percent of Democrats and 12 percent of Independents believed Obama was Muslim.

“Both Obama’s religion and his birthplace have been points of controversy in his public career,” Gallup noted. “These data show that in terms of his religion, most Americans do not adhere to the belief that he is a Muslim. However, the fact that almost one in five Republicans do hold this belief suggests the potential for continuing controversy on this issue in the months ahead.”

Thought this was interesting! How could so many not know?! There has been threads on ATS suggesting that he used to be Muslim and converted, and that he still is Muslim,

Did you convert Obama from being Muslim to Christian, Wright, " I wouldn't go that far."
Gingrich - 'Obama gives people reason to believe he's a muslim'
Obama / Hillary Clinton Giving Muslim Brotherhood $1.5 Billion in U.S. Taxpayer Dollars!,

So obviously there is controversy, AND, considering the lying and all the hidden past stuff, it is a viable question. BUT it seems to me that it is pretty obvious that he IS NOT Muslim...
Do you think that almost 20% of Republicans think that just from his name? is there really that much ignorance within 20% of republicans?

The majority of Gallup respondents, 44 percent, said they did not know Obama’s religion. Only 34 percent correctly identified the President as Christian. Another 8 percent said Obama had no religion

Here is the link to the Gallup Poll,

It appears that the story is biased towards bashing Reps a bit, because I am sure there are many Dem's who think he may be Muslim, although it appears that the percentage wasn't high enough to be written about in the article
**Added, found that info within the Gallup Poll**

Just 3% of Democrats say Obama is a Muslim

PS. please note, I am not trying to bash reps here, being from Canada i am not biased towards either party, I hate them both equally! hahaha

Thoughts?!

Okay, so what?

It's only a big deal if people want it to be.

I personally don't believe he is. Even if he was it wouldn't be that big of deal to me.

A Presidents religion doesn't really matter, and shouldn't really matter. What matters are his character and the job he does in office. Being religious is not necessarily an indication of character.

And having character means being honest, being true to your word, keeping your promises, and how you act according to your beliefs.

Obama is just another corrupt politician who has no character.

He could have worshipped the Smurfs and it still wouldn't have made a difference on the man himself. Not that he does much anyway, as many world leaders are just mouthpieces/figureheads.

It's only less than twenty percent? Wow. How odd. Since the opinion around these parts would have us believe that all Republicans believe that President Obama is, in fact, a Muslim.

To those of us who actually know that Republican doesn't actually equate to braindead, this poll comes as no surprise...

IF he is muslim and IF muslim is wrong, then on a list of one to ten that is number 100 of his problems. He has faith alright, just faith in his ability to redistribute wealth and fundamentally change america. His faith in our creator seems lackluster at best and non-existent at worst. At least his actions would not be the same if he followed christian, muslim, or about any other world religion tenets. So his faith is not muslim or christian it is void.

The Obama administration told Congress on Thursday it will waive democracy requirements to release up to $1.5 billion in aid to Egypt despite concerns that the country is backsliding on commitments it made to democratic governance and rule of law.

U.5 officials and lawmakers said Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton has determined that it was in the U.S. national interest to allow $1.3 billion in military assistance to flow. She also certified that Egypt is meeting its obligations to the Israeli-Egyptian peace treaty, which frees up an additional $200 million in economic aid, they said.

A senior State Department official said the decisions “reflect our overarching goal: to maintain our strategic partnership with an Egypt made stronger and more stable by a successful transition to democracy.”

The official spoke on condition of anonymity because congressional notifications are not complete. Clinton will sign the waiver on Friday, the official said.

U.S. officials had said last week that Clinton was poised to grant the waiver because she could not certify that Egypt was in full compliance with the democracy requirements of law.

Sen. Patrick Leahy, who wrote the legislation imposing conditions on the aid, said he was “disspointed” by the decision.

well lets see how much u get for 1.5 Billion,,,now that his guy is in power and bought and paid for.
