IBM out thinks al contenders, and for some time to come it looks like.........
It has been more than two years since the US lost the number one spot on the TOP500 list of the world’s fastest supercomputers to China, which then lost that spot to Japan’s K Computer. Now, after IBM unveiled its Sequoia BlueGene/Q System which manages a sustained 16.32 petaflops, the title is returning to the US, dropping Japan to second.

The awesome visualisation power of this machine, has some vast potentials....Modelling nuclear weapons rebuilding processes is no small juggling act
Just look the the amount of calculations it can compute........
What say we ask the IBM guys to donate one to an advanced university like MIT ..........
The good gear is headed for weapons production and the seconds go to science....
When will the goverment start looking at investing in the one non renewable resource that they can count on....Their own people!
Maybe we can talk the gov boys to let us have the old model from their dumpster?
