I know it's unlikely that he will read this; but given where I'm posting it, he just might. Truthfully, given that possibility, I'm a little nervous about making this thread; but I think there are some things I need to say.

The major point I want to make here, is that for me at least, Mr Jones is starting to lose credibility. I've been on the Internet myself since 1995, and have known about Alex since probably 2005 or so. I haven't been a true fanatic of his material, but I have kept up with him from time to time. Some of his material has at times been good; I'm not going to argue with that.

However, I first want to use another recent thread here as an example of what I'm talking about:-

"Don't Be Alarmed": Army Trains MPs To Drive Tanks On U.S. Streets

The source for the claim being made here, is Prison Planet. Apparently a training exercise is being conducted, teaching troops how to drive tanks and/or other armoured vehicles on city streets. The OP of that thread was followed up by a number of people noting that the training being undertaken, was most likely for use in America's current foreign theatres, such as Afghanistan or Iraq.

The point is, that this is typical of the sort of material which I've started seeing more and more from Jones' sites. He goes into a fearful panic on his radio show about some new, supposedly lethal threat which is going to result in the end of the world as we know it, and then...nothing happens. The world keeps turning. People keep going to bed, getting up, going to work, coming home.

This leads to another point that I want to make; namely that I do not fundamentally believe, that being a dispensary of what I can only refer to as apocalyptic doom porn, is a morally defensible activity. I understand that Jones feels that it is vitally important to keep people informed; but given the nature of the information that is continually broadcast, and given, as I have already shown, said information's at times dubious levels of accuracy, I have to seriously question whether or not Jones' material truly contributes positively, to his viewers' psychological wellbeing.

To be fair to Jones, the American doom porn industry is currently booming, and he certainly isn't the only individual plying this particular trade. The proverbial Prophet of Peak Oil, Michael Ruppert, is another relatively high profile (and at times, equally hysterical) fearmonger who comes to mind.

Although it may surprise Mr Jones, given what I have just said; I will not argue with the premise that America is currently experiencing a re-enactment of post-Weimar Germany. America as a country is about to completely politically and economically destroy itself, if it has not already happened. I think anyone who cannot see this, could only be completely delusional; it is obvious.

Yet at the same time, I have noticed the severely detrimental effect that Jones' material (as well as the material of someone else who has recently become allied with him, Mike Adams) has had on my own mental health; and this leads me to believe that Jones' material is likely having a similar effect on other people as well.

It is difficult enough in the current period, for the average human being to maintain, on an ongoing basis, the will to survive. Simply the motivation to continue with life on this planet at all, at times; it seems so much easier, and at times more tempting, to simply put yourself under a truck, or at the end of a rope. To be done with it.

That being the case, with our sanity already being sufficiently burdened as it is, I do not feel that it benefits us, to have our minds further loaded with information about the actions of the most depraved, psychopathic, and generally evil individuals currently inhabiting this planet.

I have spent close to the last 20 years of my life, studying the infernal, megalomaniacal schemings of degraded, wretched beings such as David Rockefeller; scarcely human fiends who likely no longer remember their time spent at their mothers' breasts. I am realising that to continue to gaze into that abyss, as Nietzche observed, increases the risk of it gazing back into me. Constant pre-occupation with evil of the magnitude of the Rockefeller family, as one example, is not conducive to sound psychological or spiritual health.

1. Fearlessness (Abhayam)

Among the Divine qualities, Fearlessness stands foremost. Fear is an effect of ignorance. Identification with the body causes fear. Blind attachment to the body, wife, children, house, property etc. is the cause of fear. The sage who has realised the Self is absolutely fearless.
"He who knows the Bliss of Brahman (God) from which words as well as mind turn powerless, fears nothing." -Taittiriya Upanishad

Fear can be removed by constant thinking of the immortal and all-blissful nature of the Self. If you lead a life of honesty and truthfulness, if you devoutly observe the precepts of the scriptures without doubting, if you lead a life of right conduct, and if you remember God always, you will become fearless.

-- Divine Wealth

I hereby inform you that I will no longer be one of your viewers, Alex. I would encourage anyone else who reads this, to also at least spend some time in serious contemplation, as to whether or not they truly find your material beneficial.

I couldn't have said it better myself. He lost me when he started spouting off about chemtrails. He needs to be constantly create content. Unfortunately for the doom porn purveyors, a "slow news day" can be rather crippling. Cue the screaming and yelling about anything to stay relevant.

That's not to say he isn't on target with a lot of his assertions, but I think he might regain some credibility if he were just honest and didn't sensationalize every little thing. When nothing's happening Alex, just go deeper into one of your old standby subjects. Do a show about survival gear or something. We won't mind. Hell, I have a broadcasting degree - Hire me as a producer. I gots ideas.

Half of his commercials are about how to get rich off the coming collapse, and I'm pretty sure that was a bit from a few of them verbatim. It's no surprise to anyone learned in ponzi-shemes that there are two ways to do it. You either let everyone in on the game, or you lie to them.

Alex Jones is a master of both. He allows the audience to believe they are the minority with special knowledge and then instead of empowering them, he funnels it into his coffers. In 'return' you receive more of him, but it is unsustainable because he is 'news commentary' though he says he 'wears many hats' of which one is a journalist.

Staying on topic, for now, he psychologically separates you from the flock but the human psyche needs the herd and so you are forced into the other half of the paradigm. I don't want to accuse Alex of anything I couldn't prove, so I'll just leave it at this:

What solutions are offered to the problems?

1) Expose the Global Elite - Check
2) Educate the Masses - Check as much as it will happen
3) Buy Stuff to Support Alex Jones 'Operation'?

Alright, I'll bite. I have seen the AJ Empire grow from a cable show in Austin Texas to live streaming, on the ground, and nightly news.

Millions of dollars have passed through this mans hands, and whom has gone to jail? What lawsuits were filed that weren't to protect... Alex Jones?

He criticizes people like Rand Paul, and rightly so, but then later talks about how 'using the system' (Facebook, Iphone, Twitter, ect..) is the only way to wake up the brainwashed masses...

*car screeching*

Why do his listeners even believe him when he says he doesn't fully support:

Jesse Ventura
Rand Paul
Ron Paul
David Icke
Webster Tarpley

because they 'compromise' or 'play the system' and yet he does?

I would argue he had way more exposure and hard-hitting reporting when it was just him and a camera back in the 90's. Now he has a team that he constantly complains about, his shows run hours a day and he is sounding more and more like an angry coked out Lindsay Williams. He criticizes nearly every other talk radio host, and says he has more listeners than the main-stream media and the only reason Rand Paul was elected is of course his grace...

Look, I entered the reporter contest, and it's no secret. I spent hundreds of hours doing articles, promoting my work, put in three videos, made correspondence with Mike Adams and failed to (after 20 emails to different addresses and people) make correspondence with the rest of the AJ team.

I'm a little bitter, but not because I lost. I'm bitter for the same reason everyone else who worked hard is bitter, and I've talked to some of the 'contestants'.

The whole thing is a joke, and a lot of the finalists paid for advertising because the contest asked for 'viral' videos. Some can justify spending over $1,000 direct to youtube promoting features because it was a $5,000 contest, but is that really 'viral'?

I spent a week researching, pulling documents from my local police department (which was unnerving at best) on a program that I exposed as a bureaucratic extortion ring, and editing down to ten minutes what I felt was a breaking alternative news story that was worth hearing. I tried to convey it in a reasonable way that would hit the people.

I quickly realized that people were posting up to ten video entries! They couldn't be putting as much effort into the videos as I was, and I wasn't moving slowly, but I decided to tow the line and ended up producing a total of three entries.

Next week over 100,000 Japanese are expected to protest the restarting of the Ohi reactors, which I did a entry on, as well as the Nationalization of TEPCO in April before it happened.

Eric Holder has been voted 'in contempt' by the panel and it is expected he will be voted on party lines by the entire body very soon. I not only discussed that in detail, in under 5 minutes, but I also followed up on the very man who originally lied about there ever being gun-walking going to head up a law-school as the Dean. I further speculated that it was a 'ticking time bomb' for the Obama Admin. Most people did not believe it would go that far, and was lightly reported in April when I released the video.

I further went on to write 20 articles about Anti-drone sentry gun DIY kits, China claiming to the UN the 2nd Amendment was a human rights violation, constant updates on Fukushima, and even Peter King's outrageous flip-flopping and omissions on the drone program.

What hurt the worst was Mike Adams. He rewrote with his own twist an article I sent to him asking for him to check out my efforts in the contest. He criticized me based on lack of humor but said nothing of the content, and I replied politely that my wife agrees with him (humorous?) but nothing followed. The next day one of my articles on Senator Rand Paul's endorsement was to keep the corruption down was rewritten and posted on infowars.com by Mike Adams.

I don't mind AJ. He's just a businessman, forever having to create new content to keep his enterprise going. Whatever shreds of legitimacy he may have once had, have all but been entirely diluted by his media empire's need for constant profit expansion.

It's his 'fans' who i think are just complete idiots. No critical thought. No confirmation of sources. Just take what Alex says and believe it, word for word.

TLDR:

The contest is a great example of exposing the lie. He spent $10,000 to get a bunch of muppets to give him tens of thousands of hours of research and new material, some even spending their own money, because he is out of ideas. He will probably hire some schmuck whom he can treat like the majority of his 'team' and fire them washing his hands of the issue and gaining a ton of new stories to exploit.

Who want's to post fliers for the next contest and get arrested?

Anyone?

OP,

I watch Alex quite often, and I completely get where you are coming from. Alex gets angry, goes on rants, he admits regularly he is "digressing", but given his accuracy, the info he reports on is maddening. I don't see how he could keep his cool, and Alex is so passionate, I think he gets misunderstood by people.

When I hear AJ I can be easily drawn in, I get pi**ed along with him, and I see how its mentally unhealthy. With that said, the positives out weigh the negatives. I rather AJ be on the radio providing information then not. I'm not buying into a doomsday scenario, however I can't disreguard the power grabs going on today.

OP, being skeptical is good, just now reading your post made me evaluate AJ, more then usual.

AJ lied on this show by saying he "called it all along". Which just isn't true. Webster told him that Ron was a nepotist just trying to set up Rands career ( a few days before Rands endorsement) and Alex raged on him. Webster also told him the Pauls were teamed up with Romney all along...Alex raged.

Do all the other AJ listeners not realize this or do they just ignore it? I don't even listen to him that much and I have seen this happen over multiple things

I couldn't care less if Alex is wrong sometimes, because everybody can make mistakes.

It is just a shame in the media world because you have to rush a story out there if you think it has credit.

As for the way he rages, that's why I love him.

Rage on, Alex.

Lying and making mistakes is two different things.

Everyone on here is outraged if the MSM lies, but if "alternative media" does it they brush it off like no big deal.

Exactly the point. Aside from the doom porn angle, Jones is one more cult leader; just one more person to whom the sheep can abdicate personal responsibility, or the need to think for themselves.

And they think they're an elite minority with special information, as someone else said here...the chosen few of the "Resistance?" Please...excuse me while I go and retch.

Mike Adams is completely barking insane at this point, in my own opinion.

I don't think that was always the case, though. There was a time, probably 3-5 years ago now, when Mike was putting out some very solid nutritional information. That was how I found him, and that was why I initially started receiving his email alerts.

However, I think where he really took a wrong turn, was his beginning coverage of Monsanto. It wasn't until after that, that he started going off the rails. I don't want to blame Mike or be cruel to him for that, either. Monsanto have driven farmers to literal suicide in India, so I could easily see them driving someone mad.

Another person who I've seen recently, who reminds me a lot of Mike, is Max Keiser. To me, he's probably the Mike Adams of economics. They are both people who are watching the topics/domains of their passion, being systematically destroyed by psychopaths, and they are both screaming as loudly and as hysterically as they can, trying desperately to get anyone in mainstream society to listen and pay attention. I think it's the level of despair and futility that both of them likely experience, that is the cause of their deteriorating psychological states. I've seen Michael Ruppert exhibiting the same type of syndrome, as well.

Unfortunately for Adams, Jones, Ruppert, and Eisner however, while they're screaming along with Heston, the rest of us are far more interested in subject matter like the video below.

Note first the nature of the content, and then the viewcount...and you might begin to understand how someone like Mike Adams has been driven to insanity, by a sense of hopelessness, concerning the future of humanity.

Well said.

I've often referred here on ATS to a former house-mate of mine who has pretty much lost his marbles after he discovered Mr Jones and his fear-market and began listening to him on a daily basis. Of course he(my friend) is not a typical example but I'm sure he's not the only one.

For my friend the world has become a terrifying place, and death lurks in every sip of water, every morsel of food, every cloud is a toxic plume of chemicals, everybody in local government is in on it, every snippet of news not obtained from infowars or prison planet is a lie, people like Sir David Attenborough(a former hero of sorts to my friend) are now 'eugenicists', he has dumped his vast collection of National Geographic mags because they are all propaganda etc. Oh and probably the most insightful point I see with him (and a lot of people here on ATS) is that everybody who doesn't share his world views are 'sheeple', to me I see a glimpse of something else here, an ego issue, that serves to bolster these views.

I may add that this person who I am speaking of lived a carefree life before a was led to Mr Jones's table, and although he was a good bloke he never seemed to care for the worries of others, but now he is all about saving the human race, and although you might think that this is a good thing, I, knowing my friend for many years, see it as more about how he views himself and he has now become intolerably self righteous, another trait here on ATS in abundance.

For me this is why AJ and his apocalyptic-porn(like the term) makes money. AJ deals in fear, fear sells, he offers his listeners a solution, empowerment, he offers them access to his club, info-warriors unite! People eat this up, become addicted, they can't live without it, they feel good about themselves, they're now 'in the know', they're not getting left behind to die like all the other fools.

As an earlier poster said, a slow day for AJ must be taxing on his coffee machine or whatever stuff he imbibes to get himself juiced up for another belligerent mouth foaming rant, one things for sure he 'works it'.

S+F for you.

too many people that basically contribute nothing themselves to the liberty/truth movement talk crap about AJ

the man has his own style.. he gets angry and sensationalist and speaks like a passionate populist figure.. could be a genuine attempt to strike the fire of liberty into people's hearts and minds and to stress the importance of what he's saying.. could be something he does just cause the fans like it (although lots of people are constantly complaining about his OTT approach so if his primary concern is to pander to his fan base, I would've thought he'd adapt his strategy).. could be the classic dinosaur media tactic of sensationalizing stories to keep viewers hooked.. could be a mix of all three

whatever the case.. NO-ONE does more to bring people's attention to all the corruption, secret agendas and lies of the global "elite" (I think of them as morons but whatever).. and NO-ONE conducts more insightful interviews, mobilizes the American citizenry into events like Bilderberg 2012 and generally keeps the political fringe abuzz with energy.. and despite the sensationalism here and there, he and the team he co-ordinates do very well to keep people like me informed about the unfolding of the NWO/Agenda 21 strategy

and please, it's not his fault if you can't handle the goings on in the world and if you feel like your psyche is being invaded by his investigative journalism.. would you rather he went away and we could go back to living in a mainstream media bubble of ignorance? would that be easier to stomach? hey if that's how you feel you should go back to living in that world.. but when you're ready.. man up, get your s*** in gear, stop contemplating suicide and realize what you have to do help liberty prevail over tyranny (you'll realize the world is a wonderful and exciting place once you do this).. and realize that while of course you should always question and verify everything AJ puts out (but this should go without saying for any outlet), he is a valuable source of information and his efforts across the scene should be respected at least.. cause it takes a lot of balls to be as public as he is considering the nature of what he does

you've just described common symptoms of awakening.. at first people become overly paranoid.. then they also become self-righteous and think that everyone around them is a dumb sheep being led to slaughter (I blame sensationalism in conspiracy documentaries that depict the human race as herded and suppressed.. while largely true, too many people make it out to be much worse than it actually is and people like your friend adopt this unbalanced view)

it's an initial reaction to the shocking reality that's hidden away from us.. depending on your friends character, he may calm down and learn to monitor the situation objectively or he may continue to hold an unbalanced view of things.. whatever the case, you can't blame AJ for any traits in your friend that you may dislike.. it's up to your friend to discern, question and do his own research and formulate his own opinions.. and it's not AJ's responsibility to look after anyone's psyche and ensure they don't experience complex emotions.. that's BS, there's bigger things to worry about

you should be happy for your friend.. he's learnt to question the world around him (even if you tend towards paranoia, it's far healthier than being ignorant) and he's discovered a sense of loyalty to his people that transcends petty categorizations.. this can only be good for a person

also you have no idea about AJ's business model and intentions.. none of you do, stop pretending you have AJ "all figured out"

I think my friend was better off before he started listening to AJ.

I've listened to Jones myself in the past and I know for a fact he exaggerates, twists and lies.

My friend is now a nervous wreck one minute and a deluded 'truth warrior' the next, he worships Alex and will hear no criticism of the man. Every word Jones says is gospel to my friend. He has also spent a great deal of money on infowars merchandise, and has travelled to the US to see Jones talk.

On the whole my friend has become mentally unstable, you want to validate that by saying he's now 'awake'? I think that is a backward view, anybody with sense will tell you that only a delusional person would take everything that AJ says as the absolute truth. Jones is full on, he presents his material in a flight or flight manner, some listeners are going to get sucked in, and, call it what you want, it's not going to be pretty when their individual little worlds collapse.

Facts dont need emotion behind them. They speak volumes all on their own. Alex Jones uses emotion as a heavy Spackle to cover up the giant holes
and contradictions in his myriad 'theories'.

Real truth speaks quiet. It doesnt need to yell, and carry on. It lets the weight of the truth speak. Alex Jones is just a wealthy man, who gained his wealth from marketing his emotion. If you are a consumer of his emotion, you are, by definition, a Rube, a Mark, a Consumer.

Sorry, but that is not an 'awakening'. It's careful programming. And while I wouldn't ever claim there is one specific 'type' of 'awakening', fear and self-righteousness are NEVER part of any sort of 'awakening'. If and when you ever beco 'aware' and 'awake' to the world, you will not pretend to have more knowledge than others. Enlightenment is the understanding that you dont know a god damned thing, not that you now know everything.

Your friends idolatry and fanaticism isn't AJ's fault.. he never tried to create a personality cult or claimed that he is a messenger from God.. he's just a humble Texan who has some things he'd like to share with the world (and of course, he's not gonna protest if you wanna purchase a PP subscription or some infowars merch)

Your friend is mentally unstable 'cause there's a lot weird sh*t out there and it can be a lot to take in, sure AJ isn't the easiest person to hear it from (listening to Icke is a much calmer experience, and no I'm not saying reptilians are real.. I'm referring to NWO stuff for now) but the important thing is that your friend heard it and now knows.. and that's what I meant by awake, obviously I wasn't implying that being awake is being constantly paranoid and worshipping a radio show host

Now your friend just needs to learn how to chill out and verify sources, but that's an altogether different beast

Ok perhaps I should clarify, I meant awakening in terms of not buying into the corporate lies and messages around you, and being more aware of what's going on especially in the shadow world.. and I certainly didn't mean enlightenment because that's a different story and I guess you summed it up pretty well

Whatever I'm not saying this guys paranoia or self-righteousness is justified.. I'm just trying to suggest that AJ isn't trying to invoke that effect on purpose, although I'm sure he's aware it's a common side-effect of partaking in research of a conspiratorial nature
