Police heavy Armoured Public Order Vehicles being transported through st Helens Merseyside .

Hi on 20/06/2012 I spotted two brand new shiny police heavy armoured snatch vehicles on the back of transporters passing by me in the opposite direction , wanted to u turn and follow but needed to be somewhere ,
Anyway made me think why such heavy duty vehicles would be needed in my region as there generally only used in Northern Ireland and military versions within the British army ,
Are we expecting fun and game shortly ? As well as the Olympic games …..
